  • We had a great service yesterday.  Pastor Jeff has been teaching the congragation about the tabernacle.  Yesterday’s service was the final teaching in that series.  At the end everyone took comminion (symbolizing the sacrifice) and then we were anointed by oil (symbolizing the laver).  Then we got in line and became a covering for other who were going through.  The kids were the last to go through and Pastor Jeff made a comment that he had to get on his knees at the end in order to go past the kids.  It was great.

  • Values What are you’re?

These are the attributes which our society values the greatest: beauty, intelligence & money.  These are man’s values. God hates these values. Luke 16:15 For that which is highly esteemed by man is an abomination before God. Living by man’s values will cause you to be a bad parent, bad employer or employee. These values will be your god and you will serve your god. But if you value what God values, then you will be free to be all you were meant to be.

  • Ezekiel 4:9-17 For 390 days Ezekiel was commanded of God to eat very little. This was to demonstrate what was coming to Israel. God’s people are required at times to suffer. Ezekiel was an illustration to Israel, a living picture of what was to happen. I have to wonder if this was getting Ezekiel ready also. So far we don’t see the reaction of the people.

  • Beginning of His Story
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was in fact God.  he was present with God in the beginning, and through him all things came into being.  Apart from him was nothing made of all that was created.  In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.                JESUS

    Psalms 2

Our God is enthroned in heaven and transcends every earthly power.  There will always be those who possess enough power and cunning to overtake any human fortress, regardless of its strong defenses and tight security.  But God’s reign cannot be overthrown, although many may try to defeat his poeple and usurp his power.  Thoses who opose God have no access to the seat of his power-heaven itself.  When we encounter those who are hostitle to God’s desires, let us call upon our Lord, who can never be conquered.  He can overcome any oppostion we might face.

    Ezekiel 3:7,8
When God is about to do some great work he is said to make bare his arm
Isaiah 52:10 The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.         Even though Ezekiel couldn’t speak his silence spoke volumns.  The power of the imagination can help people get on the right path.  God wanted to get through to his people and sometimes words don’t do it.  Ezekiel became a living message.  It was very uncomfortable for the prophet.

  • Eze 4:1-6 The prophet is here ordered to represent to himself and others, by signs which would be powerful to affect the mind. When Israel kept her integrity God had graven her upon the palms of his hands (Isa 49:16) But because Israel has become a harlot a worthless tile would do. Ezekiel had to of known how deeply this would affect the people. He was to lay on his side for 390 days. This has significance. The enemy of Israel besieged Jerusalem for that many days. We can learn from the sins of Israel. When they kept their hearts true to God they were like the apple of his eye but when they fell away they were in bondage. How many people would fight to keep there bondage? And why? The human will wants to be god.

  • Ezekiel 3:24-27 God tells Ezekiel to go to his house and shut himself in it. He had to bind himself with ropes. God made his tongue stick to the roof of his mouth, but when God had a message he would loose his tongue. Then Ezekiel would go tell the message even if they wouldn’t listen. We can rejoice that God keeps us in his grasp even when we lack enthusiasm for following his leading. Even though Ezekiel was called of God and followed him, Ezekiel was grieved and overwhelmed by the task put before him. But he recognized that the Lord’s hold on him was strong, so he continued on. God did not manipulate him to obey his will. God did give him a strong leading.

  • Psalms 7  I come to you for protection, O Lord my God.   We need protection not only physically but spiritually.

  • Church service was great today.  Pastor Jeff talked about going into the Holy of Holies.  There was a picture of the Old Testament Tabernacle in the wilderness.  After washing at the laver we can go into the Holy Place and worship. Pastor Jeff talked about the annointing oil.
