A group of us ministers get together each month. This past week we had a representative from James Dobson ministry. Chris gave us an update as to what Focus on the Family was doing. He briefly gave a report on the legislation to define marriage as between a husband and wife. The fire storm began. The Lutheran Pastor and the Episcopal Pastor were outraged. They both were red faced as they expressed their support of gays and lesbians. The President of the ministerial had to shut the conversation down because it turned really ugly. I say that because I would suggest you ask your Pastor where he stands on the issue of homosexuality. If he's for it the run from that church. I'm appalled at the acceptance of something God clearly describes as rebellion. Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality. I personally refuse to get into any discussion of this issue because my mind is closed to any other view point. Homosexuality is wrong. If that's narrow minded then I'm narrow minded against sin.

We have interesting staff meetings. Last week we discussed the disgust we feel when someone tries to "mother". You know the person. In attempts to bring comfort the person says, "Oh, It'll be alright" while patting you on your back. What if it doesn't turn out alright? Or the person that whispers in your ear, "Just have faith". What if I have faith and my kids still act up and my world turns tipsy topsy? Don't get me wrong some people need mothering. But for those of us that have grown up we want to work the Word of God into our lives. I have another solution to the stress filled day. (I had to do it just this morning) Shut down and reboot. First shut down all those stressful thoughts. Do not pray your problems. Here's a prayer you shouldn't pray: Oh God, you see the horrible things my kids are doing. They are driving me crazy. Yesterday little Johnnie took all his army men and marched through the fish tank. God I spent an hour cleaning up the mess and how that fish got on top the picture, I'll never know. Amen Don't do that. Shut down those thoughts - take them into captive. Then reboot. Enter the presence of God. You need a fresh start each morning, a reconnection if you will. -
Drive By Shootings
Zek 17:1-2 Cause Jerusalem to know their sins. A Christian's responsibilities is to speak against evil. However the motive must be pure. Whenever I speak against the evil I try to remember how vulnerable I am. I'm capable of the same evil in some cases. Should that stop me? No I must make sure my heart is towards God. When I was a young Christian I would throw out the condemnation messages like bird seed. Then when someone would disagree I would put a notch on my armor as a victory. I soon learned that I didn't have to take responsibility for someone if they were against me. It was a stinky attitude, that had nothing to do with love or God. I must first take responsibility for someone's soul and then and only then can I speak about the evil in their life. I don't believe in drive by shootings -launch the word and run. I'm open to all opinions (without the course language of course) I first must identify with the sinner and then with love speak into their life. -
Who said: "I have opinions of my own strong opinions, but I don't always agree with them" ? I'll give you the answer at the end. Have you ever said something you wish you could take back. Oh Yes. My favorite verse comes out of Proverbs "It's better to be quiet and thought a fool than to open your mouth and leave no doubts" Another verse is about being double minded. We need to get a clear word from God and then live out that word. The person who said that was President Bush.

On February 1, 2003, the space shuttle Columbia broke apart just minutes before it was scheduled to land at Kennedy Space Center. All seven crew members were killed, including shuttle commander Rick Husband. Evelyn Husband was thrust into the national spot light. She said something in an interview that really encouraged me. The question: How has your own relationship with Christ helped you cope with your husband's death? "There has been this overriding sense of peace, a sense of God's hand and His absolute intent to see us through. People commented when they came to our house after Rick's death that they were amazed at the presence of the Lord. It's still here."
We need to speak God's truth and when we do there will be obstreperous people. I had to delete a comment because of a such person. That was too bad because I personally don't mind if someone disagrees with me, in fact it's healthy. God gives us peace in those circumstances and his presence is so wonderful. With that in mind keep going for the truth. -
Why is homosexuality wrong? It's rebellion against the original design. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, or not Reva and Eva. The original design is a no brainer. Adam and Eve were created and instructed to bring forth life.Can a motorcycle be used in the ocean? Can vine wood be used to make things? God asked the 2nd question. Both answers are no. Why is it that human beings want to change things from the original intent? Because we want to think we're better than God. Think about it. Homosexuality is the highest form of "man worship". Since they are useless I have set them aside to be burned. Eze 15:1-8
