It’s been difficult getting back into the swing of things since school has started – but I’m trying. We’ve had an evangelist the last several nights. It’s been tearing me up. The conviction is strong. God has taught me to not curse the “uncomfortable”. I was thinking about that this morning. One song that bothers me is “If we are the body” It talks about if we are his body then why don’t we see Jesus. The speaker had statistics last night. If all the births and deaths stopped miraclusly today; it would take us 4000 years to win the world at the rate we’re going. Sobering thoughts. I have to continually question myself this: Am I living for Jesus or am I using Jesus to create my life? The answer is found in this question: Are people giving their hearts to Jesus by my life?

Oh wow, total conviction, powerful words. Thank you, brother.
Wow…I’ve been thinking the same for the past year. Here are some of my thoughts throughout the past year…
1) The book, The Purpose Driven Life, states that we are all pre-wired to worship God.
From birth to our road to spiritual maturity to discovering how to live life with the purpose (i.e. to the fullest as God intended), we are pre-wired to varying degrees to emulate the traits found in God…only to constantly be reminded that we are human in nature. Humans make mistakes, which is all part of the pre-wired learning process.
Some people view pastors and spiritual leaders, who have studied the ancient and timeless wisdom longer, as leaders who they can model after…just like God naturally pre-wired children (i.e. in their DNA) to varying degrees to model their parents behaviors until children realize that certain behaviors just doesn’t seem wise.
Until people can fully understand that God is the true person to model after, I believe that people will continue to look up to pastors and parents as part of their maturing process in the interim.
2) God knows everything that has happened and knows everything that is going to happen in our lives. Everyone/everything is connected.
Because I’ve had a great career in software engineering, I visually relate to all this from a computer programmer’s standpoint. God has pre-programmed our lives using one large “if, then, else” statement. But, the basic foundation of being pre-programmed to worship God runs deep and wide in this pre-programmed “if, then, else” statement.
