  • Matthew 24 has been on my heart a lot this week.  Verse 11 of that chapter says, “A lot of false prophets will arise”.  I’ve been fooled in my past by false messages I thought was from the Lord.  When I turn on the Christian TV and wonder what Bible they are getting their information out of.  A test to see if something is from God is testing the fruit of that information.   Is it universal? – meaning can the same message be spoken in 3rd world countries as well as the US. Does the message change your life or does it just make you feel better?  I have found that a majority of disputes among Christians have nothing to do with message but everything to do with method.  I’m allowing God to search my heart and life this week to purge out any “wrong” message I may have picked up along the way.

  • So true.  Your recent Xanga posts have really hit home for me.  One Sunday morning, over a year ago, I allowed a great deal of silence after one of my prayers.  The message was definitely universal.  He said to me, “Stop what you are doing and see what I give you.”  I translated his message to mean…stop seeking my own will of having my career on top of caring for my child and seek his will.  I was completely floored.  Although I’m still working on following his will, that Sunday was a major turning point in my walk with him.  He seems to speak in an almost ESP manner when I am weakest, cycling his message through both my heart and my mind…in the most extreme quietness.

  • BTW…My recent Xanga post contains another universal message from him…my translation of it…and how the message speaks to me to change my life.  I guess I should have posted the universal message instead.

  • Yes, our pastor says that we must be fruit testers. Also, a true prohesy is not for necessarily that moment, there is a right time for it to be implemented. We cannot just trust the prophesies others give over us, we have to check it out in our spirit, in the Word, and in the timing of it. Or we could miss the mark doing the right thing. And I also find that it needs to show up in more than one place in the Bible, and in context.

  • Amen, I have had to purge some messages that I thought was from the Lord. Thank God for the Holy Spirit, He will tell us the truth. It’s just something about a false message that will make us very uneasy, I guess it is the unction from the Holy Spirit to test the word. God word Randy, thanks
