We are at war – spiritual war that is. We can’t forget that. The only way we can win the war is that our supply line is operating properly. God has told us if we fight on the front lines he will supply all our needs. Some of the reasons God doesn’t answer is: We’re not on the front lines or we’ve slipped into the flesh. A soldier doesn’t have time to be thinking about where his food or clothing is coming from. He expects it to be there. It’s the same in the Kingdom of Heaven. God will supply all our needs. Fight the good fight today.

Oh, my friend, the war is won. It is up to us to claim the victory. Not just claim it and its a done deal, but to grab hold of it and never let go. To take our victory flag and show it off to the world and make victors of others. I’ve seen the bumper sticker that says the guy who dies with the most toys wins. I believe the guy who dies with the flag in his hand wins.
The battles of the day are the ones that threaten our hold on the flag. May be never let go and always have the Spirit’s help to hang on and keep marching.
Ah, that’s a funny thing you brought up. Well, not really, but it just happens to be something my friend is struggling with. Very interesting.
Thanks. I really needed to hear this right now. Can we humanly win this war? I’m trying hard to fight on the front lines with our eldest having an ear/throat infection and a fever for over a week. She’s grouchier than we’ve ever seen her…trying with all her might to set her own extreme tone for the family because I no longer have unlimited hug/kisses for her (i..e. can’t afford to carry germs to our newborn who is also grumpy due to milk allergies). No amount of empathy, choices, one-on-one activities, or natural consequences can substitute the hugs/kisses. She’s trying to kiss/hug our new arrival even though we’ve tried to quaranteen her. It’s been hard to see so much sibling love and then having to stiffle it. Children do not set the tone for the family, but not being able to provide hugs/kisses have increases the challenge of claiming victory. I feel that God will continue to provide us with enough of a challenge (i.e. takes things up to the next level) because he knows that we can handle it.
