  • I’ve been looking at Mark chapter 9.  The first verse says, “I assure you that some of you standing here right now will not die before you see the Kingdom of God arrive in great power.”  Verse 9 says, “As they descended from the mountainside, he told them not to tell anyone what they had seen until he, the Son of Man, has risen from the dead.”  Sandwiched in between these verse of course is the Transfiguration.  In verse 31 Jesus says, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed.  he will be killed, but 3 days later he will rise from the dead.”   They didn’t get it and was afraid to ask.  But they weren’t afraid to discuss who was the greatest.  I see in this chapter Jesus staying focused upon the will of God.  Even in the greatest of experiences Jesus humbled himself to the experiences he would go through on the cross.  When was the last time we were on a spiritial mountain and immediately humbled yourself?

  • I’m at a plateau right now looking up at that great mountain, so humility is not exactly coming in great waves.  But, I do realize how much easier humility comes whenever I’m on top.  I need to pray about it.  Thanks for the reminder. : )

  • How are you doing? Things are going a lot better for us.   Thanks for the prayers.   I posted some recent pics of the kids today if you want to check them out .   Tell Kim and the girls I said “Hello”

  • How interesting.  I had a vision/dream with the same message from God back in March of this year.  Time appears to stand still whenever I get one of these visions/dreams.  My vision/dream (short version): I was late getting to a movie theater and somehow found myself sitting next to a man in a military helmet.  He was explaining to me what had already happened (i.e. 911).  I told him that I already know what happened (i.e. my pride is showing).  Then, I found myself being attacked by growling small dogs (i.e. terrorists) in our backyard.  I ran inside and locked the back door.  I could see the dogs attacking the glass door.  I watched my next door neighbor walk into my backyard and watched the dogs dart over to him.  I felt dumb and helpless hiding behind the glass door as I watched the dogs attack my neighbor.  He fell to the ground a bit hurt before the dogs ran away.  Then, I found myself running to all my childhood “safe havens” (i.e. grandma’s house, parent’s house, etc…), but couldn’t quite fully escape the dogs.  In fact, the dogs entered my parent’s house and I ran off, leaving my elderly parents to deal with the dogs (i.e. selfish me).  God’s message at the end of my dream: ”Do you value security or loyalty (i.e. I’m valuing my own safety over everything, but what about my neighbors/friends/family)?  Your country’s leader…”  I missed the last part of God’s message, but knew he was talking about 911.  When I woke up that morning, I walked over to my 40 days of prayers list of what to pray for the previous night to see what I had missed…to make it up that morning.  I was surprised to see, “Pray for your country’s leaders.”  I immediately prayed for our country’s leaders.  After I told my husband about God’s message, he feels that God is telling me that President Bush needs to involve the U.N./NATO rather than value the security of the United States over everything else.  But, I know for certain that God was also speaking to me about not just sitting on the sidelines watching and running away.

  • I just posted a weblog with a slightly more detailed version of the above.
