A lot of people blame things on the “devil.” I think we do a pretty good job of messing our lives all by ourselves. I think we get hit by the spirit of stupidity more often than not.
Thanks Randy. But, I’m still confused. I’m aware that we shouldn’t throw pearls to the swines. I’m not going to announce my dreams to non-Christian friends. But, I would like to store them away in a journal in Xanga (because I have bad memory sometimes and my subscribers are Christian) and use the info during God’s appointed time. But, at the same time…aren’t we suppose to prophesy with other Christians and maybe even non-believers? Or, maybe I’m not interpreting 1 Corinthians 14:22-25 right? What do these verses mean to you? “Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers. So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!”

I’ll be joining a bible study in Sept. called Spiritual Gifts which covers 1 Corinthians. We are told to do a Greek word look up on the word gifts in 1 Corithians 14 for practice. Hopefully, more answers will come while doing the study.

I guess I still feel so new to all this even though my true relationship with Him began over two years ago. I was skeptical for a while afterwards, but I’ve obeyed what I know for certain that He wants. Yet, Obey is where my problem lies. I don’t know for certain whether some of what I’m interpreting is right or if I’m missing part of the picture. Just what are the gifts anyway? I’ve been asked by Him to pray about our country’s leaders in relation to terrorists…is this a gift? What does “forthtelling” mean? What does “tongue” really mean? What does public and private tongue mean? What does “Someone gives a message in tongues and someone interpets what was said.” mean? I can’t seem to interpret certain portions of my dream unless I write it down on a journal. Some of the logic comes to me at a much later time as it unfolds in my life. Some parts of these dreams still doesn’t make sense. Do I bring my dreams to someone to ask them to interpret them?
In addtion to the above, I was talking to a good friend of mine who is also spiritual. When she told me about what God has planned for her, I felt the Holy Spirit come upon me. I told her that I sense that God’s plans feel so right. We both felt electrical and held hands instantaneously. What is this called?
How does the different tongue sound like…does it sound like a foreign language like French or is it in English…would you be able to give me an example? I feel that my prayer language is not where it should be.
Your nursing home example is exactly what happened to another friend of mine. She was driving by and felt the need…went inside with her daughter…talked to a lady…and walked right out. She never did figure out why…she can only guess. Some of your experiences are so powerful. God is amazing.
