My 22 year old daughter is leaving for college. I had lunch with her yesterday. She’s going to be missed so very much. Alicia was my assistant in Children’s Ministry for several years and that is going to leave a void. We did a slide show on a “going away” party this last Wednesday night.
I’m not doing so good with her leaving. I totally bombed out yesterday.

It is indeed a happy/sad/proud/grieving moment. You did well, Dad. It’s okay to cry.
Moving away to college is a huge thing both for your daughter and for you. Whether she calls home ever night or once a month (I was the once a month if you’re lucky type) you can be assured that she is going to be thinking about and missing you, probably more than you do her
.
I really feel the sorrow. But, you did well as a dad (i.e. the good news is that God will be with her).
