  • ryc:  My book, “Secret Doors,” is about a mixed-blood Cherokee woman whose invisible friends stay with her into her adulthood.  Her quest is to discover who they are.  Invisible doesn’t necessarily mean imaginary. :)

  • oops.  i meant to say…  my next book is about taking part in your own creation.  it’s called, “Being & Becoming.”

  • No, because I am not really Jewish :P

  • yes, i celebrate rosh hashana. it is a very optimistic time of year. generally, jewish people go to services and/or visit each other’s houses, etc and eat apples with honey. it is a stereotypical jewish holiday, i suppose haha.

  • Typically, Jews celebrate Rosh Hashanah with parties and a long synagogue service that ends in a celebration, and the blowing of the shofar. We eat foods that have specific meanings, for example, pomegrantes, (and excuse me for misspelling that word). Every one is said to have exactly 613 seeds, the number of mitzvot G-d gave to us. We also eat apples with honey–for a sweet year

Since there is no Orthodox synagogue near my house I am afraid I won’t be at the festivities this year I’ll personally spend the days davening (praying), reading, singing, and most importantly, eating all the foods we save for this time of the year!

    L’Shanah Tovah!
    (to a good year)

  • I forgot to mention both days, since we are in the Diaspora (as opposed to in Israel, where it is only one day) are both Yom Tovs. (no electricity holidays) All the Shabbat laws apply, and the only synagogue within the five mile radius I’m allowed to walk in is Conservative, so that’s why I’m davening at home this year. This means no electricity, no driving, no cooking, no writing or anything.

  • It’s in dry dock for the next year and a half :)

  • thanks
