Scientists studying the red planet hope a human presence on the moon will lead to a manned trip to Mars. What do you think about a permanent manned base on the moon?
as for me I remain on earth…if we can be in mars or any others planet would be kool.
I am all for it! finally, we cna start harvesting materials from otehr planets and damage them too! earth is no longer the only one lucky enough to be inhabited by humans!
not exactly a comforting thought if you ask me. i think that we should kep our butts right here on this palnet where we belong! if we weere ment to go to the moon there would allready be air there
hahahah
what good is it? we can’t control ourselves on our own planet…we can’t even control our own country, let alone planet x.x
Interesting thought….but in my mind a waste of taxpayer money. I also agree with the above comment, we have enough trouble getting our own affairs on earth in order, much less governing a population on the moon.
I’m all for exploring and researching our surroundings if someone else has a passion for it. It’s kind of like choosing to stay home or go out of our comfort zone and travel. I never really like traveling to a foreign country, but I enjoy the memories and lessons learned after the fact. When I worked for Lockheed Martin, I enjoyed seeing their videos on their brand new releases of the Mars Pathfinder to NASA and their new fighter jets to the Air Force. I kept saying to myself that I’m glad someone else has a passion for making, manning, or flying those things…because it sure wouldn’t be me.
As for taxpayer’s money and governing the scientists out there…I feel blessed to be in the US where citizens are creative enough to even come up with such a concept and act upon it with so much passion that the idea actually comes into existence. I am willing to pay my taxes for the furtherment of our wonderfully free country…even better if it was internationally funded like the international space station that is floating up there in space. If we already have a manned space station out there, it might be cheaper to just move the space station closer to the moon.
My dad loves watching the Nasa station too.

As for the question…There’ll eventually be people living up there in domes one day. That’s going to be so HIGH real estate!
