Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve last night. I got a book from my Mom that I wanted: Sparkling Gems from the Greek by Rick Renner. Let God’s peace serve as an Umpire for your mind and emotion! Col 3:15 I’ve heard people say, “If God is real then why all this turmoil.” Those people obviously don’t know the peace that passes all understanding. estrella_girl put on her site a song I love; When peace, like a river, attendeth my way. -It is well with my soul. It was written by a man who lost his family at sea. On the very spot he lost his family, he wrote this song. Are you at peace today? How do you get there? (It’s 7 am in the morning and my children are not up yet – I’m shocked.)

Very at peace. I was awoken out of my slumber by the sound of the new puppy whizzing on my comforter. The teenagers are still in bed. One got up, saw the other two were still sleeping and crawled back off to his room. Baked a corn casserole, going to study my Chemistry. Yee haw! Merry Christmas!!

the peace of God soars higher than the turmoils only when we lean on Him. i only undertood this when i surrendered my life to Him few years ago.

I love Rick Renner, I’ll have to get that book. That song brings back a beautiful memory of my ex-mother-in law. she passed away a couple of years ago and I was with her. She was in the hospital and I went to check on her at 11:pm that night. She was heavily sedated but she acknowledged that she knew I was there. I was supposed to work the next morning but I could not leave her there alone, so I called in to work. She was kinda restless and we knew she was passing. I checked on her several times through the night. I turned the TV on the christian video station to hear the music. I checked on her at 8:30 that morning and she was still with us. I dozed again and awoke at 9:00am and she was gone. As I stood there holding her hand, I heard the song playing “It is well with my soul”. It was the most beautiful, comforting, soothing sound and I could feel the presence of God and the angels in the room. It was the most awesome experience that I have ever had. I knew she had made it home for sure. I cried tears of joy. At her funeral I requested a organ interlude of that song. Sorry to be so long winded, but that made me remember. I hope that you and your familly are having a beautiful holiday season.
