  • Rewind & Play it Again

There are movies & shows I love to watch over and over again.  (I personnally can't get enough of Little House on the Praire) Paul told Timothy to put in  remembrance all these things.  Remembrance is taken from a greek word anamimnesko, a compound of the words ana and mimnesko.  The word ana means again or to repeat something.  Mimnesko means to be reminded of something. There are memories in our life with God that we should be rewinding and playing again & again.  It would certainly keep us from playing the bad memories over and over again.    What are some of you memories that you would like to play over again in your mind?

  • the memories of the day i got married and the days each of my kids were born :)

  • Hmm...interesting question...Some of the memories I want to replay in my mind forever are when I'm in a state of carefree bliss. Whether its being on a bus to Chicago with some of my best friends, sucking helium balloons with the rest of the student council (that was an interesting day), or even small things like winning SALUT (The French version of Bingo) in class. I always hope that I can remember the interesting situations in my life that God has blessed me with...

  • I live in Texas.

  • I love to remember a particular night when I was sailing to a tiny island in the Pacific called Rota.  The cloudless black sky was sprinkled with stars, which reflected on the black ocean.  The sea was so calm and glassy that when I looked out, I could not tell where the sky ended and the ocean began. There was no horizon--there was only blackness and stars.  It was like I was sailing through space.  So peaceful and beautiful, it was like sailing through God.

One of my favorite episodes of Little House was when Laura shouted, "I'm not a little girl, I'm a WOMAN!"  When I was a teen, I used to tease my parents by saying that when I wanted more responsibilties (like staying out late at night, borrowing the car, etc.).   The reruns I love to watch are the ones involving Nelly.  They always make me laugh so much!   But the later shows get sort of depressing, with a sister going blind and "Manly" losing his ability to walk and Jen trying to kill herself in a lake. I don't like to watch those over and over again.

  • thank you. same goes for you and the family!!

  • Hmmm...a memory.

I miss my grandma and I used to love when I would lay my head on her lap and she would stroke my hair. I think about that all the time.
