Can I be honest. I am sick and tired of the Church supporting the family. Certainly in my country over 50% of the church do not have traditional families. You are constantly reminded of this microcosm of people to which you don’t belong. I believe family programs in the church are important but so are programs for those who don’t have one. We need to put more emphasis on church family. Many of my gay friends stay away from church as they know they will never be part of traditional families. In my own church I often feel that i have no place because I cannot be put into a particular life group.
So my vote for a theme would be more along the lines of getting your church to see itself as a family. hope you don’t mind my rant.
A pop quiz! Oh, no! Ummm… Ummm… Ummm… The dog ate my homework! Its not my fault! I will have to come back later when I am awake!
Happy New Year!
Hi Randy. Good question. I’m not sure, other than just being there for them when they have needs. Hope you have a nice New Years.

I think people do not know how to visit anymore.I love to take the kids to older members homes and let them see their collections and talents and hear their stories.I believe the church would be better if they did more family visiting.
Happy Mew Year…
Love the ketchup,we have all kins of crazy stuff,I love jalapeno mustard,

Trick question. The church is people, not buildings nor programs, but the fellowship of the believers (or as well put previously, a family). As such, families and individuals support the church by being present, serving, and helping each other. When the family (and individuals) support the church, the church is supporting the family (and individuals).
Have a great New Year! Steve
As I’m sure you already know, the church is a family. Are you looking at it from the perspective of helping families with the most needs…especially those with children? Mom’s with young children are generally a needy group. Our women’s ministry director recently invited all the women’s groups into her meetings to brainstorm (she provided her own vision first) about what we’d like to see more of in the church to support moms of young children. Besides small group, we have MOPS, meetings at coffee houses, plus a whole slew of other programs. If you’d like some ideas, our church can be found at http://www.lakesidechurch.com. In fact, our pastor has recently been divinely motiviated to teach other pastors about how to grow their church.
