New Year’s Resolutions
We all have something that we want to remove out of our lives. The greek word – apotithimi is a compound of the words apo and tithimi. Apo means away and tithimi means to lay down. When these words are used together it is a picture of someone laying something down. “You must make the choice to remove those filthy, stinking garments from you life, to permanently lay them down and then deliberately push them out of your range forever…”

ryc lol yes…if it’s the TV my husband always uses, he goes NUTS until it’s found. He also offers a reward to the first child who finds it! As for something I want removed from my life…I would have to say DRAMA! I seem to be a magnet for it…then again, I have a 13 year old daughter so I may be setting my sights too high. The weather here is not cold but also not warm its like 8 degrees but its storming today so… but i want it to be cold and that it is going to snow but it looks like thats far away…
Kinda the same question I asked today and that I ask everyday, except you are asking in the present and I in the past. The reason that particular question (what would I go back and change) haunts me so badly is it occurs to me that if I wouldn’t have the courage to go back in the past and change the things that I know turned out badly, who will I ever be able to make the choices now whose outcomes are still unknown. So, that’s what I would change: I would have the fortitude to change what I want and resolve to live with the consequences.

BTW – Is that a pic of you to the right..First pic? If so, I loooove your hair! =) I got red (RED) highlights in my hair a few months ago that I really enjoyed, but the dye washed out within a couple weeks…I was really bummed. Why is it that you can never keep the cool stuff in your hair, but the things you hate can’t be repaired. =)

God has called me to be a Messianic Rabbi. I’m not sure exactly what I need to do to get there, but God will direct me. Plus my Rabbi can tell me how I go about doing it. Pray for me. Shalom,

I’ll tell you one thing; Randy was a popular name in Yankton in those years…..
RYC : It’s been bouncing between the low 30′s and mid 40′s this week. We didn’t get much in the way of the ice storm per se, but my son goes to college in Springfield, and they got hit pretty hard. The campus closed for this week.. luckily he was still here is STL when they made that desicion.
That’s the problem down here… it could be freezing and snow up to your wahzoo… or it could be sunny and in the 60′s ! …maybe both. We seem to get quite the mix.
A tip though : If you go to Lammert’s Restaraunt ( I would recommend it) DON’T eat anything else that day except maybe coffee and toast. You will get soooooo much food. If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault. And yes, they do throw the rolls from across the room- with deadly accuracy too.
Haha. No, not familiar. I’m just more focused on people than events. I was on “Ancestry.com” anyway, looking up ancestors, and just looked you up in US public records.
It must be cold up there. I worked with a nurse in Texas years ago who was from SD.
Are you in the Black Hills? I’ve been there before, looked up the famous folks in the Mt Moriah Cemetery and saw an old town back there. It was beautiful and peaceful as I recall.
I would like disharmony dashed to where it belongs. Not particularly out of my personal life, but gone from the world. Of course, my answer is rather diffuse because disharmony is like the umbrella which covers all the nasty stuff. As long as nations keep this umbrella erect, shielding the “Light” of Serene Harmony”, well my first, last and always-resolve is to keep praying.

Friend qualities…they must be trustworthy. I’m a closed book and it takes a lot for me to trust someone. If my trust is broken, that is it.

Friends…………well ones who can put up with me…….that is a good place to start…..LOL…..but I also require that my friends treat me with the same type of friendship that I treat them with………and I am a good friend……..loyalty, appropriate priority……not putting me before husband or children…..but I need to have some priority…….in other words…..call me back, spend time with me, don’t put me down to build yourself up……and I need truthful friends……I don’t like to be lied to……….I also need truth spoken in love……..I have a tender heart so don’t pound things onto me…..and the ability to work through troubled times…..The best friends that I have are the Ya’Ya’s….there are 4 of us…..I have been friends with them for 11 years now………one of them is on my site…..Starwhisperer…….we love each other through thick and thin…….we have seen one another through alcoholism, divorce, adultry, spousal abuse, miscarriages, sick babies, pregnancy, fights, deaths, moves and you name it……….and we are tighter than we have ever been…….we have few rules amongst us…………and highly different personalities……….but it works……..and I love ‘em……TA

what do I look for in a friend? compassion, empathy and goodness….
I know this one always comes up, but trustworthiness is important to me. I share of things a lot with my friends that I may not want others to know, so I need to be sure that they’re not the type to blurt things out to other people.

Ahem. Qualities I look for in a friend: -I don’t feel nervous around them. -They don’t leave me out of things or make me feel prissy or dorky. -They make me laugh.
and just being fun in general! they’re the people you can kick back with when you need to, so they may as well be fun to hang around. I like when they’re intelligent and interesting so I’m always learning something new. Just caring people that I know are there for me when I need them and I can be there for them in return.

unfortunately, i haven’t been able to see it yet! i had something going on both nights. but, what’s great is that my mom bought the episodes like 3 days before they came out on tv (weird… she bought them at target or someplace i think. i don’t think they were supposed to be selling them yet!), so she is shipping them to me and i’ll be able to see it!
i did accidently find out that curtis died, though. bummer.

Trustworthy and reliable. There when they say they’ll be, and when they can’t come, they call. Also, I look for someone that, if they have a problem with me, that they bring it directly to my attention, and not bicker about it to other people.
