  • XANGA

    Why do you Xanga?

I love diversity.  I enjoy others view – even if I don’t agree with them.  I like the insight into another persons thought process.

Spoonerism – An error in a sentence, resulting in a funny meaninful phrase.
Reverence W.A. Spooner (1844-1930)  is who the word is coined after.
Example:    Is the bean dizzy?  verses Is the Dean busy?  The famous one in the Nixon White House was from a reporter who said, “I have a White sowse horse.”  verses “I have a White House source.”  Say that fast!

Have you heard any slip ups or spoonerism?  Can you think of any?

When you don’t know where you’re going any road will get you there.

    To my teen xanga friends:
If you think a razor is the answer: Know this the Word of God is a sharp two edged sword – It cuts the pain by creating healthy pain.  Time does not heal all wounds – only cleaned out ones.  You don’t have to bleed for Him to hear you.

I start my day (after praying) many times by turning up the music and playing Louis Armstrong’s “Wonderful World”.  How do you start your day?
Right now I’m listeing to TobyMacs -Let’s get this party started.  -Everyone, open up your mind and let your soul be free.

Here is a great video on quantum physics

  • Xanga gives me a creative outlet.   It also allows me to meet others, experience others views, etc.

As for a slip, my wife is full of them.  She is constantly wanting to throw the washer into the dryer (as opposed to the wash into the dryer).

Course, I am sure I have mine too, I just tend to ignore them!

  • hope that you have a great day,

  • thz for ur comment! hope u have a great day too!^^

I loves to write xanag,  I can meet many new frds from the xanga!!
although I can’t speak and write well english, but I loves to see many new things from other’s xnaga^^

  • that’s an interesting way to begin a day. i like the idea of playing louis armstrong’s version of “what a wonderful world.” i think i may have to try that. and then followed by Toby???! hey, he has a new CD coming out soon. february i think.
i xanga because i like to write and it is a creative outlet. i had no idea how many people i would “meet.” i love being able to get to know other people, especially Xs, that have different views than me. honestly, i don’t think we would converse much or hang out in real life, but it allows me to be stretched and forces me to be flexible. it’s good medicine for avoiding legalism.

ryc: that trip was great. i’m so glad i did it for a variety of reasons. but mostly for the people i met. the seamstress was such a blessing. she lived in a stone like house (maybe mud?) with her children and mother. i don’t know if there was a husband. they cooked over a fire in their living area. it was adjacent to their sleeping room, but outside. lots of other things. but it was good. i don’t think short-term trips are good unless you work with local pastors though. happy day!

  • I chose xanga cause friend told me to go here then after awhile starting to make friends and beginning to care for them as a sisters cause they open their heart and their private life on here so that why I like it and that they also show me luv as well.

    have a great day!

  • I like Xanga a lot more than Myspace. I copy the blogs on here only because some people don’t have and don’t want to sign up for Xanga.

I start my day by popping in some David Crowder Band while I’m getting ready. It gets me going!

    Have a great day!

  • I start my day by changing a diaper and making some coffee and breakfast for the little one. Not exciting..yea I know, but then….I sit and drink my coffee while reading my xanga subscriptions and comments left…. with cartoons in the background. I know….so glamorous! LOL

  • I start my day with a shower and some prayer.  Then breakfast and the morning round of refereeing that I do to get the kids off to school.

  • I Xanga to let friends and family know that I’m up to. I xanga to share my thoughts about God’s Word and His actions in my life.

My day usually begins with a prayer and then some exercise.

  • I work nights so sometimes I don’t know when my day starts or ends.

  • Well I started xanga at first to use as a journal then I decided to use it as a place to write my stories and poems instead.

We have a book of things like spoonerism. It’s called quips, quirks, and oddities. My favorite is one about a guy who was having a meeting with lots of farmer. He said, “I have never seen so many tons of soil in all my life.” He was trying to say sons of toil. And there was a bunch of people’s last words. One of them was what a general in an army said: “They couldn’t hit an elephant from that dis-”

And I start my day by taking a shower.

  • Well first I wake up relieved and thankful that I’m alive another day.  The older I get, the more thankful and appreciative I am for each day we’re gifted with.

  • I started my xanga as a place to put the stuff I write (poems, etc.) on a place that I could access anywhere and could be backed up in case my computer crashed (it did it once and I lost some stuff).  It eventually turned into a place where I could update people on what was going on in my life, so I recently created a couple of other xangas.  One of them is my new creative outlet and my other is up because of a more special reason: I am trying to memorize Proverbs.  Yes, the entire book.  I put some of my thoughts up on the site along with the scripture and I was really hoping I could get people to comment on it to make me think more and make me “wiser” in effect.  http://www.xanga.com/BringMeWisdom/  So yes, I use xanga for several reasons, but mostly an outlet of what is going on in my head (and it’s a lot).  =o)

  • hello back,  on my way back home i went to the store to get somethings, for to night. the sun is out (that’s good).  and having a good day

  • Aww….thanks I like hearing from you too. Ok maybe I will sign up for the NASA newsletter! Have an awesome day too!!

  • Yeah, that’s too bad…  I really liked Curtis.  I thought it was just going to be a “maintenance” episode where they try to gain their bearings and figure some things out, but no…..they blindsided us with Jack’s brother.  I think my head is still spinning from that.

  • hello, you must have lots of kid living with you, for me and my wife it is just us and to cat’s. we are not looking to have kids. we are both to old and it would be hard to have a baby in the house, but would like to have one that is in there older years, but that is in time.

  • I say things like that all the time and the hubby laughs at me. Now I know what they are called!

Way starm…I mean, stay warm, my friend, and have a great evening!

  • Yeah I used to be a pastor’s kid not anymore though. I like history but I like to learn biblical history or learning about old forts & lighthouses and ancient cities but I dont like sitting in a classroom learning about it. Like I want to actually be there learning about it myself and not learning about it in school haha What do the kids at school got to be jealous about?

  • i like xanga ‘cus i can read my friends blogs and i can get news about about what is happening in their lives. plus its fun reading about other peoples lives and their memories. hehehehe :p

  • I just enjoy xanga because its a place to write everything I am feeling and thinking about… I guess its like a stress reliever.. :) and meeting new people is always fun.

  • Hi Randy,

Thanks for finding my site, stopping by and leaving some comments!!  You have some neat pictures on your site too.

Good post about the bloopers….I love to hear the people on live TV news mess up!

    Be Blessed,

    Mike

  • Hey, I XANGA because it’s get me in touch with my “fellow Americans” – which is funny because I’m South African – LOL!

And I am afraid that I am really boring and start my day with a stretch, a visit to the loo, AND COFFEE!!!!!  LOL!

And I think it’s great that you have adopted kids and are trying to give them as best a life that you can – you are a BLESSING and your life OBVIOUSLY reflects an awesome ability to love!  It’s an honour to know you!

  • I use xanga to mostly let my family and friends know whats going on in my life and just a place to journal.  I don’t enjoy writing with a pen in a journal, typing is so much easier and faster for me.  :)

  • Nice site, Sir;

I’m Lisa Paradis, a fellow Xangan. I love spoonerisms also. In fact, I want to do a comic relief article about them on my own blog. I’m researching for them right now, starting with your site. Spoonerisms and oxymorons are fun, and right now, I need some fun away from writing about grammar. Check out my site and help yourself.

BTW-I’m one of His too, and so is my husband, Alan.
