  • Funny Pet Stories                                                                                    –

Friends of ours came over last night and we began to swap funny pet stories. Here are a few of mine:
We use to have a dog named “Eddie” and a Cockateel.  I didn’t like either because both refused to listen to me & I really believed the Cockateel really hated me.  lol  I was getting home one night about 9:00 pm and found that Eddie got out.  Well I tried and tried to catch that dog but he thought it was all a game.  He’d run back and forth and allow me to come within inches of him and the run again.  Well after I was exhausted and mad, I finally caught him.  I grabbed him by the excess skin behind his ears and carried him into the house.  Now he was yelping like he was being killed.  Well the bird picked up on that yelp and parroted it perfectly.  Every time that bird saw me, he would yelp like that dog.

What are some of  your funny pet stories?

I love going around the world xanga style.  I’m curious as to where everyone lives.  Don’t give your longitude or latitude so your exact position is revealed to Jack Bauer’s but your state or country would be appreciated.

Here is some of the history of Yankton, South Dakota – my home town.
According to legend, Lewis and Clark made a token gesture of peace by wrapping a newborn Indian baby in an American flag. That baby grew up to become the Sioux chief Struck-By-The-Ree, who was one of the moving forces behind the Treaty of 1858 which opened up much of what would become Dakota Territory for settlement.
The treaty set the stage for the founding of Yankton. The first settlements were built along a stream then known as Rhine Creek (it was changed to Marne Creek during World War I, honoring America’s French ally and snubbing the Germanic heritage of the original moniker). The early settlement was often referred to as Old Strike’s Camp of Charlie’s Town, so named after early settler Charles Picotte.

The city was a thriving river town in its early days and was designated as the first capital of Dakota Territory.

Yankton faced its first real frontier threat with the so-called Scare of 1862. When the Santee Sioux of Minnesota instigated an uprising against the surge of white settlers, and the hostility sent shockwaves into neighboring Dakota. Although no war ever developed in the Yankton area, some violence was reported east of the village near Mission Hill. The Yankton stockade was built to house all area white settlers. Fortunately, it was never needed and the stockade was dismantled.

America’s will to move west made Yankton an important crossroads. In 1873, Lt. Col. George Custer brought his Seventh Calvary to Yankton on its way west to the Black Hills — a mysterious and alluring bank of mountains where the discovery of gold would soon change the territory forever. Custer, his wife Libbie and his soldiers were in Yankton for three weeks in the spring of 1873, enjoying the booming city’s hospitality and surviving a ferocious April blizzard. Also, Custer battled pneumonia at this time and was gravely ill at one point. Although Custer’s stay in Yankton was brief, his impact on its history still remains.

What interesting things are there then?

    greetz… me

  • haha you are welcome. Today I went to my appointment and it was awesome! I figured out what I was doing wrong and I discovered that I was blaming God for everything going on in my life. I always though and felt like I was alone in this world but I relize I do have friends and family who actually do care about me I was just ignoring themmand feeling sorry for myself.

  • Well one time my mom left me and my sister who has a yappy little dog named Josy at home alone. And she told us to catch Josy and the other dog named Sammy and bring them inside because they bite people and bark at them. Liesl wouldn’t help me and I had to do it all by myself. And catching Sammy was easy, but Josy was really hard to catch. She ran really far, and I just followed her. We ran all the way to the lake at the other end of the street. There’s a field in front of it and a little old lady with a small dog was standing in the middle of it. Josy began to run around in circles around the little old lady. It was so embarrassingly. I chased it around the little old lady in circles and wished she would leave but she didn’t! And I couldn’t catch Josy. And the old lady was staring at me very annoyed. So I went back home.
    And Josy followed me.

  • hey, thanks for stopping by the other day!

    I’m from Oklahoma. : )

  • East London, South Africa

Have had many dogs but cannot think for the life of me of one funny story.

  • I know what you mean…Alfred must have sold out!

  • I am from New Bern, North Carolina which has been recently dubbed, by the New York Times as the “new” Florida.  Uggg!  Now we need an appointment to get onto the main drag.

  • We use to have a dog, Bessy, a black labrador.. XD and she functioned as our nanny really… My mom would let us play outside, and the dog would lay on the street… and everytime my sister and little brother or me would go around the corner, Bessy would get up and get my mom.. XD then my mom would come outside to get us back .

Ryc: Thnks! =) Oh and I’m from Amsterdam, The Netherlands btw . Have a good weekend!

  • hehehe that’s a funny story! i don’t have a pet right now but i used to have a cat & I cant think of a funny pet story right now!

  • Well around a year ago, my dog was visiting a friend’s dog. Both of them were male, mines was a Shih-Tzu and the other one was a Maltese. Well seeing as the Maltese was nuetered… but not mine. My dog proceded to attempt to anal rape the other dog. And he suceeded once!… He never got invited again.

  • Its my writting. If  I dont keep them all caps then they wont look like that.

  • Ryc: It really was =)

  • Thanks. haha Ok a funny story about a pet…hmm…well I have two cats. Susie and Josie. Every night around 11pm Josie goes in to my room and jumps on my bed meowing at me. haha She wants me to go to bed at that time every night. Some times I sleep in my mother’s room and Josie doesnt like it. She sits at my mom’s bedroom door meowing so I get up and see what she wants and she just walks into my room and starts meowing at me wanting me to go to bed in my bedroom haha

  • Well, I don’t have any funny pet stories… I do love pets though. :) about the State&Country thing.. I am in Texas right now.. but I am from Mexico. But I think you already knew that. Have a blessed week.

  • Her…and yeah she loves me. haha Do ya have any pets?

  • I wish I had some funny pet stories myself to share! Unfortunately, nearly all the pets that I’ve ever had had been killed within the first year that I had them.

  • Who’s Peady?

  • Aww…haha

  • Currently I’m living in Juneau, Alaska.  People keep telling me that it looks cold here, but it’s not bad.  I have a good pair of long underwear.

Funny pet story –  A friend of mine inherited a little parot from a family with a bunch of noisy kids.  The bird had lost it’s long tail feathers from the stresss, and was apparently self-conscious about it.  The bird would very carefully tear long strips off the edge of the newspaper, then tuck them into his tail, so it looked like he had long paper feathers.

Are you going on a trip somewhere?  Have a safe trip, if you are.

  • lol, i would pay to hear that cockatiel yelp like a dog.  i luv pet stories. i have a cat but my parents are taking care of him now.  i’ll be catsitting in march so i’m sure there will be tons of pet stories then.  and where I’m from?  I’m from NY, NY.

  • Again… my failing memory prevents me froem sharing, LOL… but ask a question about something far removed and I bet 10 funny pet stories will come to me, and nothing about the new subject! LOL…

I can tell you where I live!! It Connecticut…. As a kid I lived in NY… on Long Island…. see I don’t forget *everything* LOL….

  • very interesting story about your hometown    i am in roanoke virginia    interesting history too    do you have native blood ?  i have a hundred pet stories  i raised Doves for a long time & had a cockatiel  that landed on my foot while i was in prayer   she lived with me for 5 years  now i am a dreaded cat lover for the past year or so i started them a web page http://www.xanga.com/kitten_chronicals

ryc most everyone i experience  is lonely  to one extent or another  to one extreme or another  but they think it is human loneliness  not  a spiritual  or seperation from the Father  loneliness which i personally feel is the base root of  most loneliness  i do not deal with many kids  tho i have raised a couple of boys without parents   now that can be tricky      blessings  beck

  • hey I really don’t mind, just ask what you want!
Peeps are people, we don’t say people but peeps, I don’t know why, it sounds funny I guess;)

When I say I am from the street I mean, I was ehm.. when I didn’t have Jesus in my heart, when I didn’t believe in Him, I was always doing stupid things, I was depressed and stuff, we say that you come from the street when you were just hanging out and stuff, so I was in de street now I am with THE WAY:)

it’s not easy to explain, but I hope you get it…

And when you don’t, just ask again;)

    greetz me…
