Places I've Been
How many different places have you lived at? What was your favorate place?
We've lived in Nebraska, South Dakota, Washington, California, Mississippi and South Carolina. In all those places I still have to say the Mid West is the best. No waiting at traffic lights. The doors don't have to be locked. The kids can play outside and I don't have to worry. People wave at you when your driving down the road.
Giant baby born in Mexico
CANCUN, Mexico (UPI) -- A Mexican newborn baby weighing 14 1/2 pounds is wearing diapers designed for 6-month-olds, the BBC reported.
Antonio Vasconcelos is an enormous 22 inches long, said officials at a hospital in the seaside Mexican city of Cancun where he was born Jan. 31. "Super Tonio," as he has been dubbed, is about twice the size of an average newborn child.
He is relatively healthy despite his weight, said doctors, but his blood sugar is higher than average for a newborn. In the 19th century, a Swedish industrialists named Alfred Nobel created the powerful new explosive we know today as dynamite. Nobel’s’ invention revolutionized the world. Without dynamite, we would not be able to blast away rock for roadbeds, tunnels, and construction sties. Dynamite and smokeless gunpowder also had a dramatic impact upon warfare.
When Nobel named his new creation, he borrowed a word form the Greek language, “dunamis,” which connotates the idea of violent and awesome power. Acts - You shall recieve power/ dunamis.

I've lived in Alaska, Utah and Michigan... I like it in Michigan the best. But I think I'd like to try living on the East Coast next... where though....
Have a great day mister... Love the cartoon. lol Ang
Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota, Ohio. Wyoming is still my favorite place, as there is still plenty of space to get away from it all if you want. I don't remember Nebraska at all as I left around the rip old age of 3. North Dakota holds many good college memories, and Ohio is growing on me.
ryc: I lived there for four months... During the summer. It was gorgous I loved it I was lucky enough to be staying with family that loved to travel and we went as far as the roads would take us... it was wonderful. If you ever get a chance to visit I highly recomend it. I only caught a little bit of the darkness and that wasn't much fun... and the long days... well they were a little strange too it was odd having to shut the shades to get it dark. lol
Anyway. It is a very beautiful state. Ang
It was definatly the best... we had a motor home... one of the things I liked best was to put on my Bethoveen and just stare out the window... it's so beautiful. The fact that billboards are illegal probably helped. lol You never knew when you would see a moose crossing the road or Dall sheep on the edge of the highway standing on a cliff that you would think there was no possible foot hold for them to be on but there they would be. Sea otters galore and halibet fishing... now those are some seriously ugly fish. lol Anyway it was fun to give it all a sound track and such an enjoyable one. lol Thanks for helping me dig up the memories this morning. lol

I have lived in upstate NY, Connecticut briefly and then Indianapolis. I like them all. They are all so different from each other. I don't really feel I could say one is better than the other to be honest. They all have qualities that make them unique and special. Have a great day!
I've lived in Texas, Maryland, Minnesota, Colorado (but I have traveled through quite a few more states)
My favorite is definitely still Texas.
i went on the road at six weeks old my father played professional baseball so we lived in at least 4 places a year & i attended 2 or 3 schools a year for a while NY Mi Fla Minn but in the winters we lived in South America The Dominican Republic & Puetro Rico so he could keep in practice in the off season those will always be my favorite then Virginia my home state i am drawn to blue waters & white sands as i stare out at sub zero temps with my woolies on have a great day Randy blessings beck

yeah midwest is way safer then any other places.
that one giant baby! 10pd is already huge to me but 14pd..oh man!
I hae only ever lived in PA,both country and city and I enjoyed them both, but I love living by the creek the best,I love the way it cools off a hot summer night!
Lived in: Texas, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, New Mexico, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oklahoma, Germany, Slovakia (there may have even been one or two more I've forgotten) Visited many other places. Favorite place to live...hm...Nashville, TN...or maybe Slovakia...or maybe Germany. Hard to choose.
Chasenfireflies took the words right out of my heart. I have lived in NYC, upstate NY , VT and now, my final earthly destination, NC. You can really like NYC so much..and then you MUST get away from it! I 'ran' away and stayed away. My heart has always been in the country. When we travel I observe, always in awe, of the magnificence of God's landscaping. Each State has a most unique lay-of-the-land. I guess it's exactly like the hair on our heads. No two colors are "exactly" alike, however they are both brown, or blonde or whatever!
I marvel at God's Imagination in creation. He is so innovative...but, of course He is. He is God!! However, I am always awe struck by His glorious Handiwork, His color schemes. I mean who would have thought 'green earth..blue sky and cool, clear, mountain water.' Or...even invented the words to describe that beautiful pleasure? God did His usual, extraordinary job once again, but doesn't He always? All of America is unusually beautiful. God did that!!!
So, with having written that I believe I liked everywhere I have ever lived. As long as there is a roof over my head, food in my belly and the ability to pay my bills, I am gratefully happy. Gratitude is and "attitude" and thank the Good God we have for all He has provided. Amen!
Ryc: Where I grew up and lived the longest was in Rochester, NY. It was about 2 1/2 hours from Niagara Falls and we used to take day trips to visit the area you went to. The Canadian side is definitely prettier. There was some huge legislation to bring casinos to the NY side so that they could share or compete in the revenue but not sure if that went through. It's funny...All the trips I have made to The Falls...even sometimes at night just to go out dancing. SOOO much fun! You don't realize how awesome it is to live so close to something so marvelous until you move away and it's no longer a short trip away. I guess it's a way that we take for granted the things right near us. The midwest has proven to be extremely friendly, however, I am no longer feeling as safe as I used to because we are on the outskirts of the HUGE city of Indianapolis. Just last week on my street, 3 cars were smashed into and stripped of all valuables. That doesn't sit too well with my sense of safety and I have been locking all doors ever since.
Slovakia: The southern part of the hybrid "country" created by the Communist block that was called Czechoslovakia. Immediately east of Austria, North of Hungary, south of the Czech Republic.
Thank you for the sweet comment.
Only lived in the Great Lakes area. I kind of like it on days like today when I get a double snow day.
22 inches isn't really very long. I mean, I was 8lbs 8oz when I was born and was like 21 or 21 and a half inches long.
Figure i had to look at the map to find what states were in the Mid West . I think you speak of Dakota and Nebraska . I imagine they are rural areas . USA are a continent and I am always lost among the states !!!!!
For us we are from Picardy and we remained in Picardy ( north west of France ). The circumtances allowed this .
You are big travellers .
Nowadays many Frenchs become travellers too because times have much chnged .
In friendship

RYC to me: I thought I was the only person who ever referred to severe, weatherwise cold as "brain freeze cold." Ahhh! I remember the foothills of the Catskills in the Hudson Valley region of NY. The "valley" did NOT protect us from the ferocious winds...it seduced them...and that good ole brain freeze cold transcended on the most fertile valley in the world...and everyone who lived there. Gosh!! What a horror that memory is!!!

I saw that news story about the baby...They put an average size newborn next to him and he looked like GIGANTIC! Wow! I would've love to see what the mom looked like carrying a 14-1/2 pound baby in her. God bless that woman! =)
I lived in the Philippines, Colorado, and all over the Phoenix-Metro area. I've visited several states, though, and while I think Colorado is BEAUTIFUL, I don't think I could ever live anywhere but Arizona. It's home, and I don't ever plan to leave. =)
Have a wonderful day! =)
I've lived in Oklahoma my whole entire life in the same old house and it is getting pretty boring. Oklahoma is a boring state!
Tell me again, what's the name of your church?
Thanks...I watched it too!! I'm glad Spike TV is doing Star Trek Voyager...I like seasons 1-3 but I think that seasons 4-7 are the best. I like when they battle the Borg. I like anything when star trek batttles the Borg. Thats why I totally love the movie First Contact
RYC: My time in the Philippines was fleeting. My dad was stationed there when he met my mom. When my mom had me, though, we didn't stay for much longer. We ended up going to the US, back to his home in Colorado when I was less than 6 months old...I think. I know I wasn't a year old yet. I don't know if that counts or not. =)
I thought it was interesting too, since Song of Solomon to me presents marital sex in a positive light.
I have lived in a small town my entire life, and it's col. I know everybody and their dog.
Thank you for your condolences.... my grandpa was a great Christian man and we all miss him a lot.
In Christ,
Kelly
Born in Wisconsin, moved to Illinois (3 different places), then Alaska (Oh so beautiful and I really miss it there.), then Oklahoma (college and married there), Kansas, Texas and now currently Colorado. I've been to about 35 states Canada and Japan too. The world is an amazing place.

I have lived in 2 countries. I was born in Australia and lived there for 2 years then my Dad was transfered back to the USA in Florida. I have been to many places: 41 states, England, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, and Australia. I'm hoping to go to to Egypt and Africa this summer.
Howick, South Africa - I lived there for about two years........what a BEAUTIFUL place......Howick Falls, plenty forests and mini waterfalls.....GORGEOUS! And pretty safe for the kids too......this is SA so you still have to lock doors etc....but crime was at a low in that little town! Loved it there!
Let's see, places I have lived... CA, OR, WA, ID, TX, AZ, NV & NY. the place I liked best, Oak Harbor, WA. The place I liked least... definitely Reno, NV! I hope to some day have the money to either move back to Oak Harbor, WA or Portland, OR as I really dislike where I am currently living now. Take care and I hope your Hump day is a great one!
Wasn't that a huge baby? WoW! But he is a beautiful baby. I have lived in Tennessee, Virginia and Florida. Florida was my favorite place. I love the tropical flavor of Florida.
