Here’s something from my past. Take a guess as to what it is.
I was a pollywog until I crossed the line, then I became a shellback. – What did I do?I was listening to a reporter interviewing several people. The reporter made up a fake country and said that President Bush felt we needed to invade that country. Person after person said they sided with the President. My question: Do you follow a leader no matter what their stand is?
Good Positive News out of NASA
Astronauts set spacewalk records
HOUSTON (UPI) — Spacewalk records are being set this week at the International Space Station.
Following Sunday’s second spacewalk of the current series, Cmdr. Mike Lopez-Alegria, with eight spacewalks totaling 54 hours and 42 minutes, now ranks third on the all-time list behind Jerry Ross and Anatoly Solovyev.
He is expected to equal Ross’ mark of nine spacewalks Thursday and move into second place for the most spacewalk time by an American astronaut at the 3 hour and 50 minute mark. He is expected to surpass Ross’ record for most spacewalks by an American Feb. 22 during the Russian outing.
Flight Engineer Suni Williams now holds the record for most spacewalk time by a female at 22 hours and 37 minutes. NASA mission controllers in Houston expect her to eclipse the mark she shares with Kathy Thornton for most spacewalks by a female — three — Thursday. The scene of our morning – in trying to get the kids to school.
The answer to my riddle is this: I was in the Navy. When we crossed the equator we went through an initiation. -from pollywog to shellback. I was led around on a dog collar almost all day. They saved garbage for weeks before and we had to roll in it. A lot of gross things. I and hundreds of other sailers were initiated. I crossed the equator on the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk.

No I have a problem with authority generally. I expect leaders to fail me. Whick is not a good thing if you are a Christian.
They need to stay on the yellow brick road… Bad things happen when they veer off into their personal fantasy lands! LOL!
I don’t want to follow any leader if they are going in the wrong way.
You were taking swimming lessons! At least that’s what it sounds like to me. lol
Have a great day mister. Ang
If you have time today would you stop by and give me your opinion. I’d appreciate it. I’d really like to know what you think. ang
I would like to think I would educate myself on the matter before agreeing or disagreeing with the leader, but I’m sure we’re all guilty at one time or another of jumping to conclusions.
No, not always.
I am going with Swimming… our Y has pollywogs and turtles and dolphins…etc….
I do not follow anyone blindly… but sometimes I accept the fact that they are privvy to more information than I am…. so they have more to base their decisions on…
Joined the Navy.
I’d like to think the leadership would have all the facts to base their decision on. Sometimes that is not true. Do I follow no matter what? Depends on how prone the leader is to messing things up. We’re allotted one mulligan. As my dad told me “The first time you mess up is an accident, the second time you mess up on the exact same thing (especially after you know how to do it correctly), you have no excuse.”
Nope….but I think it’s important to choose a leader who makes good decisions…thus VOTE VOTE VOTE!
how do you write a post everyday…. and able to get up to 60 comments?
ryc: me too… I think it’s hard to know though.. I’m particularly bad with agreeing in crowds because I get uncomfortable if I’m the one person with the differing opinion. You almost have to be on camera being asked a question like that to know if you’re the type to do your homework or if you would agree to look supportive and knowledgeable.
Ok I was going to say something about wildlife conservation on a lake… but the Navy comment above clicked on something… You were in the Navy?
Or maybe boating?
Crossed the equator.
Do you follow a leader no matter what their stand is?
Yes. His name is Jesus. And He takes a lot of positions I’m sometimes uncomfortable with and that I may not fully understand.
But, I know who He is. I know what He’s done. I know who He did it for.
So I follow.
hmmm… water is it a reference to crossing the Equater? I didn’t know you were in the Navy.
Ryc: thanks what do you think of Enjoying Northern Michigan and Surrvivng your Kids. lol
I’ll definatly give it some more thought and get back to you. Ang
Aren’t those fishing terms? I can’t wait to hear. LOL BRRRRRRR!! Winter can end now. LOL Take care & God bless! Have a great day.
I am stumped with that one. A pollywag is some kind of frog isn’t it? hmmm, but the shellfish throws me off? Waiting to hear what it is.
I don’t always follow the leader by agreeing on their stance, but I will pray about it and ask God to give them wisdom to know what is right. Whether they listen to God (who should be their leader) or not is the question.
Oh, oh, oh, Shellback…….were you a turtle???? lol!
Oh, oh, oh, Shellback…….were you a turtle???? lol!
Nice comic strip thing

RYC: No…that is not the ocean, however that is the mouth of the Neuse River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean about 30 miles away. And yes, those pictures were taken in the area we live in. The Neuse (noose) is about three blocks away from our residence. It is a most beautiful place to live in….always feel like it’s a wee bit of Heaven right here on earth.
GraceAnn
hello there
Depends on the people causing the drama, now doesn’t it
That reminds me of my boy he i have to drag him out of bed but he has to get up at 645 and he is 6 and that is ruff for even me to get up. Well i am 23 and have been married for almost 6 years and we have moved 10 times I am sick of moving. But we started in ohio than moved to maryland my husband went o a tech school and there we moved 3 time in 18months. than back to ohio and moved 4 times 3 years and than moved to cincinati for a year and half know GA and in oct we will be moving out of this rental into a different house apartment or go camping for a few months i dont know we dont plan things we are spur of the moment people.
About the baby i thought mine were big my first one was 8.5 and 18 in long and the other was 9lb 15oz and 22 inch long and i am not a big person so when people found out they were shocked that i didnt have a C-section but if i hav another i am afraid how much that one would be. and we would always know which baby was are in the nusery because they were the biggest. But i am glad that the baby is fine and the mother is also
Thanks! We went to Golgotha, Masada, Mt. of Olives, Jesus’s tomb, sailed on the Sea of Galilee, floated in the Dead Sea [which was awesome but just dont lick your lips ekk. haha], got baptized in the Jordan River and umm…a whole bunch of other cities. haha
Naw, I doubt I’ll be posting anything worth seeing of my own drawing: I’m not that good. I just merely enjoy it once I get the notion.
Good question with the leaders and what not. I do think I wouldn’t be so quick to agree with whatever the “leaders” said. I don’t like the whole America “helping” other countries much any way.
actually it was a song. and not by me.
You were swimming. Judi
I just love that cartoon. It speaks VOLUMES to me. The wrter must’ve met the rest of my family!
Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Hey, saw you kept on commentin me, so its my turn…
I’m glad you like the way I comment…that’s funny…lol…So…how are you?
I’m terrible with riddles LOL.
Funny about the cartoon! Sure sounds like three of my kids in the morning at 6:30am
except for my 23mo old girl. she LOVES to wake up in the morning and has so much joy!
The only leader I would follow is Jesus. All others is always in question. If the president
pretended to know what the country was, shame on him. There’s nothing wrong in saying “Is there
a country such as this?”
What are you talking about!!! I enjoy talking to you…..Where did you get the impression that I didn’t want you to talk to me or that I wanted you to stay off my site? I’m glad that you love the way I comment….I like to be sarcastic…lol….anyway…how are you?
ryc: Ooo… I like that title… Thanks It’s definatly in the running. lol
I really like the cartoon today… It feels like that hre right now… Bed time… lol Have a great night. Ang
I don’t ever follow any leaders blindly. I learned that lesson after they didn’t find any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq after Bush made it sound like they were growing on trees over there.
Yep
i don’t always follow authority. it depends on what principles they have
Yes! Sometimes there is a yellow brick road! LOL! Sometimes not!
Haha, thats pretty much what I do all the time in the comic…
*smiles* haha well…when I find my journal of Israel I will tell you like everything! haha
Follow the leader? I think they only show the interviews that suit their agenda. They surely had some who said, “WHAT!!!@@@#%$$%%^^&&**(((()!!!!!! THE CRAP IS HE DOING THAT FOR; HASN’T HE GOTTEN US INTO ENOUGH HOT WATER?”
My first thought was “frogging.” Is that right? But technically, you’re fishing for frogs. LOL So if I’m right; I was right the first time. hehee. Take care & God bless!
oooh, i like what sword & sacrifice said about following the leader. other than that, the issue would take too much discussion for me to work out in my tired little brain right now, so i’d have to say, “that’s a very good question, Randy.” hehe.
i love the comic strip, and the 14+ lb baby mentioned in the previous blog is making me cringe. that’s a shattered tailbone waiting to happen!
ryc: thanks.
Mmmm interesting…I didn’t figure it out, had to read your answer!!!
If I could package my heat and send it to you then I’d do just that, my friend!
Have a great weekend – catch you Monday again!
I think anyone who has an answer to the kind of question which was asked, seriously needs an education. Education not only provides you with knowledge but the confidence to make those necessary deliberations which impact one’s life. There was NO apparent deliberation in your example. Answered a question they “thought” was valid because they were more anxious to address their “support” of Bush? Now I think that may be absolutely wrong!!! It was more like their “non-support” of our President. That would be more like it…anti Bush. Or stupid ”doubia”! My, how I wish I were as stupid as our President. Any person who can call upon Our God, Jesus Christ, in a public forum, as often as he has, asked for His help and protection is not only a good man but a courageous man for the job. Ask the Marines what they thought of Clinton and what they think of George Bush!!! Their opinions on both men are extremely polarized and today’s Marine is proud of their leader, George W. Bush while they were politely obligated to Clinton. Why everyone loved Clinton is an example of the voting public being ignorant of the “grit” and education it takes to actually see the “Emperor’s New Clothes”!
