The most exciting time of my Navy Career was when I landed on the carrier – USS Kitty Hawk.  It wasn’t this particular jet or this carrier.  It was a C-4.  The plane comes in full blast in case it misses its cable and then stops immediately.  I couldn’t move a muscle.  What a sensation.

What’s an exciting experience in your life.

  • wow what a life…!

  • Hey Randy,
I didn’t know you were in the Navy?? Awesome. My dad was in the army in his younger years…

You cleanded the house and unlocked my safe…you may now die in peace.

yep, nothing interesting here. Oh! Except I changed my first diaper and my mom got pulled over by a cop. …you know.

         God bless!   *smile*

  • I had no idea…how cool! I heard your job is one of the most difficult.

Is it true that you will dive overboard and die if you miss the cable?

  • My dad was on two different carriers in the Korean Conflict. He drove a fuel truck on the decks of the Hornet and the Bennington. Of course, those were not jets for the most part. They were still flying mostly WWII vintage Hellcats and Corsairs. My great uncle was also in the Navy. He died in an accident in a gun turret during WWII. I had a draft number myself for Viet Nam that would’ve put me over there, but I didn’t turn 18 until the draft officially ended. I think I would’ve been a conscientious objecter, though. Not because I was afraid to die for my country. I just am not capable of killing for it.

  • HALO…..I COME AGAIN..!! TO THX YOU FOR THE COMMENT YOU SUPPORTED….

AND I WILL REMEBER YOUR KINDNESS….THX..^V^”

  • Not many squids have fond memories from the old “Shitty Kitty”

  • haha. Thanks!

  • fun experience would be getting married and have my own family

  • It sounds/looks like quite a rush. I can’t believe you were a SQUID! I used to live on Whibey Island in Oak Harbor, WA. Home of the Seaplane Base. I made it a rule to NEVER date a SQUID though. I was sure every last one of them were unfaithful. Come to think of it, so were their mates. sad, but very true! Glad you had fond memories of your Navy career!

  • I’ve heard that’s an exciting experience.

Hmmm… exciting experience. The birth of my children of course… and then I wanted to put them back… which didn’t work.

Road trips are exciting for me… I love the anticipation and expectation of unknown adventure. Ang

  • hey thanks for the comment you have a good day too

  • LMAO, you just made my entire day with that comment you left me. The last line was priceless. I hope you have an amazing Sunday!

  • It keeps me from feeling alone!

  • No…it’s for my Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder….they gave me hydrocodone for my jaw…

  • I never really thought about to be honnest but I guess the world of Harry Potter is really nice world to escape to from reality. I’m completely gone once I start reading it. It’s just fun =) You should really try them sometime. The books are really good. But then again, you have to like fantasy stuff I guess.

  • hope your weeend is a hapyy one

  • Yeah, it was pretty big and my dad’s job was near it, but they told him he couldn’t come into work after it happened.

  • RYC:   I wasn’t on the Kitty Hawk, but I knew a few guys who were.    My ships were USS Nashville LPD-13 and USS Iowa BB-61.

  • yeah my week is def not worth crap if it don’t start out with church…anyways disciples of christ is a denomination kinda like the ‘first christian churches’ which aren’t actually an ‘official’ denomination or whatever…it’s a protestant church but i spend most of my time with my catholic bros and sisses lol

  • Wow-that is very cool.  Most exciting time?  Not one in particular; being born ranks right up there although I don’t remember much.  Dying will probably come in at a dead tie.

  • Hello Randy,

It is COLD.. No snow, tho some is predicted for in middle of the night. High today will be 46…about 25 degrees warmer than it has been this past week, but more in line with our part of the country’s “normals”.. Turning much much colder the middle of this next week.

What’s your weather like where you are?

  • I’ve had many positive and negative exciting experiences.  The most wonderful was the day I’d met my one true love.  We had been separated by circumstance and went our different ways, however, each of us never forgot.  Thirty nine years later he found my name on Classmates.com. and emailed me with the statement, “If you are the same GraceAnn …… I met in 1962, I’ve been looking for you 39 years.”  The rest is history and we have been happily married for the past 4 1/4 years.  Amen!!

  •   I think my biggest piece of advice to you would be to be open to understanding that this will cause her tough times, and to understand this….and care, listen, and be aware.  Those seem to be things you are already doing.  I’d tell you to read much on the emotions of an adoptee (Joe Soll is one of my favorite adoption authors, as is Nancy Verrier–she is an adoptive parent, but did a spectacular job with her book, Primal Wound.), but based on your interest in the subject as it relates to your children I have a feeling that you are very well read in the area, already!?

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

  • Looks really exciting to me….thanks for your comments..it’s fun to go the the studying, practice and then competition…it’s just one way we found that kids like to get the Word into their hearts….Have a great Sunday….Mike

  • Hey Randy,
HAHA! Never! The story is, she missed a stop sigh because she was laghing so hard while my sister and I were telling her the story of my first diper change! hehe
Anyway, she got off with a warning and Mollie, (my sister) and I started BUSTING UP laughing!!! We were all like, “You always looked good in stripes!” and “Now we have a criminal for a mother! Great!” hahahehe! It was hilarious! Imagine 3 girls in a car cackling up!

     *inhale-exhale*

Anyway, so yep, I’ll get back to you on where my dad was stationed. I have no clue. I think it was before I was born, but I’ll ask my mom.

Have a great day,  God bless!
                  *smile*

  • ah, well actually, we didn’t eat at Outback. I don’t remember eating in the dream. We were just… in line to pay. Hah.

  • Well its just the same as having a brother or sister…..we just happen to be born at the same time! I’m a quad actuallly but my brother died when he was a baby. We are all quite different from one another. Being all the same age does make us much closer though than most brothers and sisters! Its lots of fun!

  • I’ve had lots of exiting experience…..once my sister, when she was 15 years old, was practicing driving in the 15 passenger car with me and 8 others inside. And then suddenly she veered off of the road and went crashing through the woods and didn’t stop until we were like 100 yards inside. Everyone was screaming and branches and sticks and leaves were smashing all around us and I was thinking WOW SOMETHING EXITING IS HAPPENING AND IT’S REAL!! And I was really happy and terrified and I screamed loudest of all I bet. That was exiting. And then there was the time I was in the car and my brother when he was 2 years old started the car when we were in the driveway and it started going backwards toward the house behind us and I jumped out while it was moving and yelled for him to jump out too and my other sister and I didn’t know that the baby was in there so I left her but she didn’t die or get hurt so it was ok. And one time we were watching a movie and a bunch of bats came in the house and started flying around everywhere and that was scary!! But it was not a horror movie at least.

  • Hey there! Thanx for stopping by! I’ve been to Yankton MANY times! I was born & raised in Sioux Falls.

  • I’m not sure where Obama stands on abortion. I’ve heard he’s a conservative Christian, and he’s also a democrat, so he could go either way.

  • Everytime I work with the teens!  There’s too many to even list…

  • RYC: Yep….born at Sioux Valley Hospital in ’68. My mom still lives there but I made sure she understood there was NO WAY I was coming to see her unless it was August!!!! LOL! I hope your wife and daughter have a safe trip!!!!

  • Wow awesome video…anyways…yeah God is awesome and the Word will help you. God help my heart today!!! I love Him so much. So how are you doing today? How was church?

  • Aww… that’s so sweet! What’s her name?

  • Hi Randy! Thanks for visiting my site. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE that map you have on top of your site. Can I have it too?? I think I managed to pin my country, Singapore, in it too. And the vid looks great btw. :)

  • That is one Darn CUTE puppy!

  • I bet that was exciting!!! Wow! Well my most exciting time was my Vegas wedding. Though it was very small it was large for 2 new comers to the city. I knew my husband had done a lot of work there but I didn’t know he had that many people who considered him a friend and they asked to come to the wedding. Our first plan was to have a small dinner after the wedding of 10 or 15 people, but it blew up to over 40. It was the most fun and exciting time I have had in my 48 years. We were like kids, we laughed, and danced and made out like teenagers. We did all the cooking except for some things others brought, we decorated and got dressed and was ready for the limo pick up, and that was too exciting…wooooo! I get excited about it now. We had a blast!!! I will never forget the joy of that day.
