  • Tatoos & Microchips

Implanted Microchip:  Here is a bill that is being introduced to the Oklahoma house: An Act relating to public health and safety;  prohibiting the forced implantation of a microchip; authorizing the State Department of Health to impose a fine in certain circumstance; providing for codification; and providing an effective date.
If the government says you have to have an implanted microchip, would you?

Tattoos are on the rise.  A lot of young people are getting them.  What do you think about Tattoos?

  • Have one… love it. ang

  • Here’s a question I learned when I was a drama student that I’ve since learned is the most important question we can ask ourselves about anything in our lives, including our faith:

    What’s my motivation?

  • tattoo is good in moderation but those that has all over their body and faces aren’t attractive to me. as for me I won’t get one cause I’m chicken of the pain eventhough I have two kids..LOL

  • Not a needle person personally.  I just have to remember that my body is really not my own.   It is God’s temple. Granted, we are agents of free will.  Yet, if God intended on us having a heart with “MOM” written in the middle on our bodies, wouldn’t he have stuck it there to begin with?

  • i don’t like needles, don’t have any

  • small tattoos are sometimes cool… I don’t think I’ll ever get one…

  • I have a tattoo. I got my first and only one Dec. 2005. I’ll [ost a pic when I get the chance.

  • Even though we have advanced greatly, I still think it’s dangerous…

  • I have lots of them. One on my lower back, one on my shoulders and several on my ankles, feet and toes. There are pictures in my xanga photo album. They were all very personal to me and I knew it would have to be something I loved when I was 80. Our tattooist lived with us for over 10 years on and off so I never paid for one. I don’t think I ever would pay for one. I always bought my own needle and he would use that anytime I had work done. That way I knew it was sterile. :)

  • I wish I had got one before I got saved so that I would not have to feel conflicted about it because I so want one.

  • When I think of tatto’s,  I think of rebellion. But I know some are put with fond memories. I don’t have any. My husband doesn’t have one either. I won’t let my kids have one. Thats a choice they will have to make when they are adults. Also.. alot of places won’t a hire a person if they have tattoo’s that show. I know in the old testament marking and peircing/cutting your body was an act of worship to some heathen God. “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28).   This is the only verse I know of that mentions this.

  • I really don’t mind them on other people if they aren’t obsessively covered in them, that is….However, I have none, nor do I have any desire to ever get one.

    Have a great day!

  • Most of them are pretty ugly I think. And it’s just gross when they have a million of them. But I don’t mind the little flowers on their shoulders or something like that. What do you think of tattoos?

  • My answer probably isn’t one that I should have, but I do have a tatoo and I would love to have more. Hubby also has one. I’ve always loved the look of tatoos and piercings, and although I would never go crazy with them like some people have, I can appreciate the art for what it is.

    Have a wonderful day! =)

    Hugs! =)

  • For the most part I don’t think getting tattoos is a good idea. Especially when you end up not wanting it and like some people I know-shell out big bucks to have it removed.

That joke it a funny one too, I think someone sent the same one to me in an e-mail. I went through some past posts to see if I could find the second funniest one I have ever heard, but no luck. It was about blondes laying sod though-maybe you’ve already heard it!

  • LOL!! Yeah…not a terribly confidence building name. I used to watch our friend give them out of our house and he was a comedian. He would give them a pen and hold a pad of paper in front of them and tell them to write their name on the pad. As soon as they started writing he would start moving the pad all over the place and shaking it….he would then tell them THAT was what it was like to have to tattoo someone who is moving…so DON’T MOVE!! lol

  • Other then I enjoy them? No I just like them… Jasper Johns liked to take the ordinary and make it extordinary… Do you like them?

  • ryc: You must have a very sensitive brain. lol Ang

  • I’m too fickle to get one, but I’m not eliminating the possibly that one day I might find one I really want and just get it done.

I love the look of them

  • RYC: I hope you didn’t interpret my initial comment to be personally directed. I merely mean that the reason or motivation for many of the things we do, including getting a tattoo, is what should determine the way we think and feel about it.

Since I can’t know for certain the motivation of everyone who received a tattoo, and since in my experience those motivations have ranged from “because I was drunk” to “to give glory to God”, it’s really not important what I think of tattoos. It’s more important what God and the people who have them think.

  • I wouldn’t overdo it, that’s all.

  • i have a very low pain threshold so i doubt i would get one.  not only that, i don’t really want a tattoo when i’m a ripe old grandmom and have to explain it to my future kids and grandkids.  hehe.

  • Microchip? I doubt it. “Trust me. I’m with the government; I’m here to help you.”

    Again, motivation . . . is . . . everything.

LOL! I’m starting to sound like a broken record.

  • Personally, I don’t like them on me or looking at them on someone else, but it’s a “trendy” thing to do now.  I did hear a social scholar speak about them, though.  He said to remember that one day your flesh will not be young anymore.  It has a tendendency to fall away from ones structure and sag.  There will be an awful lot of old people out there, one day, with a tattoo or two or three or four.  (I just couldn’t imagine my own dear grandma ever dirty, let alone tatooed.  I couldn’t picture her 80 years old, sweet, frail and oh! so loving….covered with tattoos.  That is an incongrous picture!!!)

  • I’m kind of neutral on tattoos, really. In some cultures, they are rites of passage, marks of honor, or marks of shame. I guess it depends on what the tattoo conveys. Whatever you decide kids, remember it will be with for a LONG time! *insert “body is a temple” sermon here*

About the microchip thingy, that’s a little creepy. How long before they start tracking the location of each chip at every date and time? How much longer before these are used for the persecution of Christians? Missionaries be careful!

  • I hate both tattoos and the chips. Its the same as destroying my skin. And chips would make me feel.. unsecure.

  • eh… dont much care either way with the microchip thing. not like i do anything i need to worry about someone finding out about…. ya know?

tattoos… i never wanted one until i found i cant have one cause i’m allergic to the dyes… now i want one. funny how that works….

    have a great day!

  • Well, I have 3, so I guess that says how I feel.  LOL  Me and my daughters got matching ones in Oct. I guess I’m a little “out there” for most Christians, ‘cuz I like piercings too. I believe Lev. 19:28 was talking about markings on your body for the dead or demons,  not just art.  I prayed about each tat before I got it, and have never felt that God said “Don’t.”  To each his own tho.  Take care & God bless.

  • This government scares the crap out of me…

  • I personally don’t like Tattoos… :- And I happen to think God wouldn’t want us to get them either…

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body,” (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

Now some can say that Tattoos are ok as long as it isn’t anything harmful or mean.. or if they get a cross as a tattoo or some other spiritual meaning… I still don’t like ‘em, but this debate is a little iffy… I’m still confused about if its ok for other people to get them.

  • I think the thing about chips being inserted is absolutely absurd. It is just getting closer and closer to the mark of the beast finally starting up.

  • Good to think about microchips early. The government is getting freaky lately. Might as well pre-empt them.

I love tattoos personally. But I think they should have some deep significance…and should be well planned out. Anyone can go to their local tattoo shop and get a heart or “I Love Mom” tat. I’ve been in the process of planning my tattoo for 6 years. Finally I saved the money and flew to Borneo to have an Iban tribesman tattoo my arm the traditional way. The design is beautiful, it’s an experience I won’t forget (10 hours) and best of all…the tattoo was a perfect blend of traditional Iban design with a few things I threw in the mix to “define” me.

    You can see it here:

    Tattoo

  • Oh yeah, it was also a cultural thing…because I’m half Malaysian and my father is currently living in Borneo (Sabah to be exact). Tribal tattoos are the norm.

  • got to love those kids

  • Some good could come from implanted micro chips. A lost or abducted child could be located.  BUT  No Chip for me…Tatoos are ok,  but some people go  waaaay overboard.

  • I would like a small four leaf clover some where…..but where is undecided…and so is when.  LOL

  • Well, some like them and some don’t.  Too much of anything becomes void of meaning.  I personally wouldn’t think of putting one.  And thanks Randy for praying for us!  BR

  • My husband is covered in tattoos -pictures of the past – and if he could do it again, HE WOULDN’T.  He regrets every one of them, the stupid homemade jobs and the professional ones.  They are constant reminders for him of who he was, and he doesn’t want to remember.  For me, a woman no longer appears so womanly with a tattoo – thats just a personal opinion, and it doesn’t mean I don’t like anyone who has one – DON’T misunderstand, please.

A microchip?  NO WAY!  The government could threaten to put me to death and I still wouldn’t do it…..sounds too much like the mark of the beast to me.

  • tattoos are permanent, and not good for you. I don’t recommend it.

Bruin is a name for a Brown Bear (Ursos arctos), or for any bear, usually poetically or archaically. It’s UCLA’s mascott.

  • well yes, i’ve been located in singapore for most of my 19 11/12 years of my life! lol. do you really love singapore?? i love it too.. come back again yah, we love ang mohs (caucasians in chinese lingo lol). might be travelling around US of A later next year. maybe you can suggest some hotspots from an insiders point of view :)

abt tattoos… i shan’t EVER get it. Whenever I think of my skin being marred by drawings, i somehow transport myself to the future and imagine myself as a wrinkly 90 year old, carrying a tattoo.. yuckkkk. but i guess this is a shallow point of view. going deeper, i think tattoos are just a way for people to express their individuality. in saying that, MY sense of individuality is that.. i don’t need a tattoo to let ppl know what I’m all about. i’ve got other ways. i think. :P

  • I’m sorta neutral. But I think we have a lot of impulsive young-uns getting them who will regret it later. I have some funny stories about tattoos, but don’t have time to share them tonight.

Hey, I hope you are well!

RYC: Frank Perretti (spelling) is one of my kids favorite authors, too.

  • I am so not into the idea of getting Microchipped. that is just another way the government keeps us under their thumb. I’ve heard about it being done in other places and it has caused a lot of problems and was being abused by the government. If that happens here, you can make bank our govermnent would abuse this, too!

  • Things to remember when you are thinking about getting a tattoo.
The ink tends to spread over the years.
    Skin tends to sag.
    Tastes change.
Are you still going to like it in say 30 years?

Microchips being forces on us? I kinda doubt it could ever happen. The ACLU would have them for lunch.

  • thankxx for the comment
