  • Right or Wrong?

Here are some facts about me. One is wrong.  Pick the wrong fact.

    1.  I have a hearing loss in the area of women and children.  A hearing loss so bad I have to wear hearing aids.

    2.  I have an internal clock, thus I never use an alarm clock.

    3.  Since I grew up in a gas station, I love to tinker with cars.  (This is the incorrect answer.  It’s a little tricky because I did grow up in a gas station but I don’t like to work on cars.)

    4.  I’ve been to Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, & the British Virgin Islands.
Thanks to all of you that tried.  It was fun.

    Longanimity (Noun)

    Pronunciation: [long-gê-'ni-mê-tee ] Listen

    Definition: Patience, forbearing, long-suffering.
Do you feel you are patient and long-suffereing?

    My wife is missing

The man approached the very beautiful woman in the large supermarket and asked, “You know, I’ve lost my wife here in the supermarket. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes?”

    “Why?”

“Because every time I talk to a beautiful woman my wife appears out of nowhere.”

  • I think it may be #1. Isn’t that selective hearing and do they have a hearing aid for that?

Some days I have more longaimity than others.

  • HARD TO PICK ONE BUT #1 SOUNDS A BIT TOO FAR OUT THERE…LOL.

  • Patient?  Longanimite? (If that is, in fact, the proper use of it!).I like to think so.   There are some instances in my life though where that would prove to be otherwise.

  • Well, I know you were in the Navy. So #4 is likely. That leaves #1 through #3.

#3 sounds familiar, so I’m saying that’s safe.

#2 sounds possible, and I’ve known people like that.

    I’m going with #1 as false . . . because I use that excuse all the time. :o )

I possess a lot of the fruits of the Spirit. Patience isn’t one of them.

  • I think it might be #2. I be your wife has to DRAGGGGGgggg you ou of bed lol I’m so guessing. lol Have a great day. Ang

  • Ok.. you told me I was wrong. Do I get a second guess…. after breakfast.

  • Number 2 is my guess.

  • hmmmm I think patience is kind of on a continuum, rather than a black or white issue. I have moved up towards being more patient in the past couple of years, but there’s plenty of room to improve.

I’m going to go with #1.. I really want to say #2, but my final answer is #1

  • btw I love the last joke… it’s so true haha

  • I am so bad at these guessing games!! I always pick the wrong one. I hope you have a great day!

  • oh and it’s 2 because I have seen you say that before in one of the tag posts about weird things

  • I would pick: 2. I have an internal clock, thus I never use an alarm clock
I would think that raising your family would be exhausting. Any amount of sleep would never be enough.

  • See??? I told you I am no good at those games! *sobbing* :P

  • No wonder my husband never came back…………

  • I pick #2, I agree with MrChuckyDuck.

I think I am patient enough. My huge problem is I can’t say NO. Even though I really feel so mad, I’d still put a smiley face in front of people who are asking me for favors. I hate that feeling…I am learning though, I guess it takes time.

Example: I have this friend, when we go out, I have to pick her up most of the time and then take her back home or take her whereever she wants to go. Sometimes, I am in a hurry but she just takes her time. Deep inside me, I want to pull her out and start screaming at her and ask her why she’s always late. But when she comes out of the door, I have a smiley face, because I still want her friendship and I do let her know how I feel about it, in a joke way so we could both laugh about it. But she still does it anyway. Oh and one more thing is, she’ll say she’ll be there but she will never show up and she will never call to let me know that she’s not coming. I don’t know why I put up with that. I guess I just love her to death, she’s like a sister to me.

  • I’m picking #2… all men have hearing loss now and then when it comes to women and children.. ha!

rtc: you said you liked the “ducks”? on my site… what ducks?  I  have no pictures of ducks… ha!  What, do you have bad eyesight, too? ha!

    Hugs, Connie

  • RYQ:  I am sure it’s #4.  You were in the Navy!

That’s a poignant and rather weighty question.  I know that every human being, in every walk of life, since Adam and Eve has endured some event of long-suffering.  It depends on the “nature” and “disposition” which differentiates it from being wholesome or purely selfish.

Personally, I have always been a kind and thoughtful person…since early childhood.  I could never understand and was always shocked when people responded to each other without due respect.  Mother, father and grandparents, by their instruction and example, deeply imbued in our little brains, that God’s Breath is in each and every soul…as He is in mine.  Respect Him and do not disappoint Him by your “own” actions or words….no matter how I/we were tempted to respond otherwise.  Dad always said of me that I had a quiet and difinitive “moxey” and  found myself defending or running to the aid of those needing support.  I had been a very caring little girl and I believe it was just my “Nature.”   Just like my eyes are pea green, it was a virtue built in me by God and so, it wasn’t so exceptional.   As I grew into adulthood and had to deal with adverse people, my perspective began to wax and wane and patience would become a “lesson” I had to learn and learn well.  I had been a conscientiously obliging little human being and never undestood why others in my life were NOT.  The lesson learned and learned well was, the only one I could depend upon on this earth, was myself.  I learned how to fix a flat tire and change out an engine; sew and make my own clothes; clean and put in order a home to model condition;  prepare and serve food like a high priced chef; garden as if I were being paid for the (natural) skill in arrangement, to be, as my son so often has told me, the benchmark of motherhood, but most of all, to be independant and stuff my impatience with others.  God has His humor but He also has His reason and it all depends upon how I exercised my own will, and used the gift He gave me in the energy to accomplish.  More often than not, I probably failed but I never stopped trying.  In my successes I rejoiced and instantly spoke to the Lord of my thanksgiving….He and I can accomplish.  In my failure, which is countless, I would ask for His help in overcoming and that I was always inspired, sooner or later, to try, try again!

So, to your question I suggest anyone and everyone look to Matthew 5: 1 through 12 and be gladdend for Jesus spoke to all who feel the pangs of longanimity.

  • Duh!  I just know I picked a truism.  I failed to read properly so I am guessing it’s #1.  WHY?  Because it is “selective”.

  • LOL Cute joke!

I don’t know you at all, but my feelings of men and women and hearing aids makes me want to pick that one! So I’m going with #1.

  • You are a man so #1 is true… I remember a post where you spoke about #3, and being in the Navy I am sure #4 is true, so that leaves #2… I bet you need 2 alarm clocks!!

  • Okay… I think I have confused myself… we are picking the WRONG fact about you, RIGHT?

    I don’t know… I give up… I don’t like these kinds of games.. ha!

  • haha the right or wrong thing is like what I was doing in my french conversation class. Btw, I guess no.3 is wrong.

  • RYC: Crap! Sorry about that – no offense.

So, I’ll go with #2 as untrue.

BTW, I like that joke – lol!

  • rtc: Ohhhhhhhhhh… very tricky…. that’s okay, my husband is the same way…

    Have a great day, Randy!

  • RYC: I smell a set-up or a trick question.

  • Hahaha…that’s funny, “FRICK TIME” I like the sound of that. If I base on the persons last name (in my case) it would sound so weird.

  • so what is the answer, from the right or wrong.

  • HA! the joke is funny

i only know that the 4th is true…=P

  • I’m going to change my answer to three.. you grew up in a gas station but you hate tinkering with cars!

  • I’m thinking you DON’T like to tinker w/cars.  But don’t all folks have selective hearing?  LOL  I need to work on patience.  Take care & God bless!

  • Ok. Breakfast was good and I did tip the waitress. I think #3 might be it. Just cause you grew up in a gas station does not mean you like working on cars.

Just another guess. If this is wrong, I have two more chances!

  • I pick #1 because it’s funnier than the others.   I sometimes wish I had a hearing loss for children!  I get so annoyed when I hear kids screaming in public places, like in a restaurant or library or store, and their parents don’t seem to hear them at all.   I’m wondering… Is it okay to scold other people’s kids in public?  Is it okay to scold their parents for not parenting?

  • Eeek! I’m going to go with #2. =)

BTW – I try to be patient, but I fail a lot! =)

  • Ooops I saw Randy’s site from anthea~

Haha I guess is no.1? u just make me think abt those baby crying in my sharehouse….so annoying!

  • I’m going with #3

  • I’ll be back tomarrow to find out the answer.

  • Gurdy?  Was that a first name or a last name.  sounds frightening though… like a little old lady with a big stick!  YIKES.

I’m not picking.  I think they are all true!

  • Great post! Funny joke!

Hey, great minds think alike!!!! I was thinking of doing that on my site and haven’t gotten around to it yet. So when I do, I’ll say I stole it from you!!! I will guess #1. It seems unlikely so that’s why I’m picking it. Sounds like a woman’s logic, HUH?!

  • I pick # 1…………..not sure…..let me know………blessings.

  • ryc: Never met a man of the Clergy who did !  Kinda strange, don’t ya think ?

  • I’m going to say you don’t like working on cars.

RYC: I mistyped. It should be blingyblob, which is one of those countdown things I have on my left module. I now have two of them.

  • 1. TRUE
    2. TRUE
    3. FALSE
    4. TRUE

    FUNNY JOKE!

  • 3?
The missing wife thing is funny!

  • #4 is incorrect??

    Christy

  • That’s funny I figured it out. One—seemed like logical statement because a lot of men are like that. Two—I wouldn’t be surprised especially if one is used to waking up at the same time every day. I notice if I pray and ask the Lord to wake me up, He always does. I often don’t worry about having an alarm clock and I’m deaf! Three—-it always happens. If we live with someone—lets say a gardener—most likely the children would hate being a gardener…Four…I figured since you liked to travel—it was possible you could visit these countries.

I am hoping to write up my blog abt my thoughts of healing real soon. I’ve been really studying and praying to be careful of the things I say.

  • Randy…this is a trick, right? LOL! And if it’s not, then I would certainly bet that #2 is wrong.

Have a great Thursday! Awwww…that reminds me…I have to put my garbage out tonight!  : )

    Hugs!

  • thanks for visiting:D

  • cute joke.

&…uhm….#3. lol, actually idk. but that’s what I’m guessing.

    <3 Alexis

  • #1.

I use that technique to find my wife… it always works!!!

  • I am patient and long-suffering – how did you know?

  • I think it is #2 you do not wake up easily. Judi
