    My Life Be Like

There has been a lot of talk about either forgiving Don Imus or firing him.
My question is this:  Can Don Imus be fired and forgiven at the same time?
Do you think Don Imus should be fired for his racial based comments?

    Breaking News:

    – MSNBC is canceling its simulcast of Don Imus’ radio show after he made racially charged remarks about Rutgers women’s basketball team.

    Winston Churchill

    Born – November 30, 1874
His father - Lord Randolph Churchill, was a British politician and aristocrat.
His mother, Jennie Jerome, was the beautiful daughter of an American entrepreneur.
    Winston Churchill, ca. 1880.

Young Winston was rebellious & often in trouble.
He was average in his school work.

Winston Churchill became Prime Minister of England in 1940, after Chamberland stepped down.
He lead the British nation promising nothing more than, ”blood, toil, tears and sweat.

England did not know if they were going to win against Hitler’s war machine.  Winston Churchill lead his people in a dark day saying, “Never quit”.

I remember a story about Winston Churchill.  The English military had cracked the German code and discovered the next Nazi attack would be against a small English town.  The sole responsibility laid upon Winston Churchill as what to do.  England could attack the German army and save the town or allow the town to be attacked.  (Saving the town meant the Germans would of known the English knew the code and then would of changed it.)  Winston Churchill agonized over his decision to allow the Germans to attack the town.  This decision ultimately helped win the war.

Winston Churchill is making a sign with his hand in the pictures above.  What is the meaning and he significance of it?

  • Nigeria

Since my plan is to go to Nigeria in November.  My focus place this week is Nigeria.

Map of Nigeria showing the thirty-six states
Population: In 2001 Nigeria’s estimated population was 126,635,626, yielding an average density of 137 persons per sq km (355 per sq mi). At the last census, in 1991, the population was pegged at 88.5 million.

Our mission in Nigeria will be to hold a training seminar, teaching Nigerian Children’s Workers and possibly holding a Children’s Krusade.

    Interesting Fact:
Nigerian’s believe in “spirits” and think puppets are Juju.

    Juju
(sometimes spelled ju-ju) originated in West Africa, and, specifically–as far as there can be any specificity–Nigeria. It is defined as ‘any object that is worshiped superstitiously and used as an amulet or fetish’. Just as important is the magical power attributed to this object and, often, a ban or taboo effected by it.
We’ll have to teach them that puppets are not evil but are used for good.

Earth’s dusty neighbor Mars is grappling with its own form of climate change as fluctuating solar radiation is kicking up dust and winds that may be melting the planet’s southern polar ice cap.

      FULL STORY

  • A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.

The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, “When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah”.

The teacher asked, “What if Jonah went to hell?”

The little girl replied, “Then you ask him”.

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child’s work.

As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, “I’m drawing God.”

The teacher paused and said, “But no one knows what God looks like.”

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, “They will in a minute.”

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, “Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.”

    “Yes,” the class said.

“Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn’t run into my feet?”

    A little fellow shouted,
    “Cause your feet ain’t empty.”

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

“Take only ONE . God is watching.”

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, “Take all you want. God is watching the apples.”

I’d love to hear your “Kid’s” stories – funny or sad.  I’ll post the best.

  • Girls Gone Wild

We really don’t have much wildness around here but “Girls Gone Wild” is coming to Sioux Falls, SD.  -about 80 miles from here.  I was happy with the news cast concerning the event.  It told of the damage that happens when exposure occurs.  Young people don’t realize that a time of that type of pleasure can lead to a lifetime of mental prison.  I’ve seen it.  I’ve counseled people; I’ve listened to their stories.  We were made for one person – a man for a wife, and vice versa.   I just wanted to report that we do have wholesomeness in our local news.

I’ve been thinking more about this, asking myself, “Why does this bother me?”  I fight the fight to see the “real” person.  I fight the fight of loving people.  I fight the fight of pure thoughts.  To me it’s either love or lust.  As I got going this morning I thought about the people that will loose this battle and participate in GGW.  My heart hurt for them as a said a prayer.  I remembered many years ago when Yankton had a strip club.  Many churches began to pray for it to be gone.  Well it was removed out of Yankton, but not without casualties.  Eugene because he was loosing his business committed suicide taking one of the strippers with him.  To me that’s the real side of GGW.

Let me ask you this question:  Do you think we should stand up, speak up, against this sexual situations or should we be quiet because it’s protected under the constitution?

    Breaking News
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced that his government would release the detained 15 British sailors and marines Wednesday as an Easter gift to the British people.  Ahmadinejad said the crew would be taken to Tehran airport at the end of the press conference that he was addressing.

  • One Particular Day

    July 2, 1776

The Continental Army faced certain defeat at the hands of the British.  But something happened that day:

Major Ben Tallmadge, a member of the Continental Army, wrote:

“At this time, a very dense fog began to rise, and it seemed to settle in a peculiar manner over both encampments. I recollect this providential occurrence perfectly well. And so very dense was the atmosphere that I could scarcely discern a man at six yards’ distance. We tarried until the sun had risen, but fog remained as dense as ever.”

What the British discovered when the fog lifted was an empty and abandoned encampment. Washington’s army had seemingly vanished, along with all their provisions, cannons and even horses. Instead of defeat, the Americans experienced a temporary setback and regrouped to fight on at a future successful day.

General George Washington recognized God’s hand on his life during the Revolutionary War

“I was but the humble agent of a favoring Heaven, whose benign influence was so often manifested in our behalf and to whom the praise of victory alone is due.”
    George Washington
There was another impressive day.  Actually nothing is written about the day I’m speaking of.  Pages of history are silent about this day.  The day was Saturday.   Why was it an impressive day?  It came between a horrible Friday and a victorious Sunday.  It was a day that Jesus’s followers kept going even when it looked so dark.

What one day sticks out in your mind above all other days?

  • And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire….   The greek word for pull is harpadzo.  This is a strong and aggressive word that presents a picture of snatching someone out of a dangerous situation.

What do you do when you see someone else in fault?
A.Do you: Do nothing because it’s not your business.
B.Do you: Say something to someone else other than the person. (maybe in a prayer request)
C.Do you: Say something to the person.

What do you think about the A,B, or C type of person?
