  •  Word of the Day:   Fossick (Verb)

    Pronunciation: ['fa-sik] Listen

Definition: (1) To search for gold in a disorganized manner, especially in abandoned mines. (2) To fossick about: to rummage around for something, to nose about.

I love reading books from different eras.  I guess my favorite is pre WW2.  (Right now I’m reading a book of the old west.)  My favorite author is Gilbert Morris.  He wrote a series of books that started with the Mayflower and continued to the present time.

    What is your favorite era?

I talked about his a few mouths ago.
This was me “Tramp” being initiated into a shellback, while crossing the equator aboard USS Kitty Hawk.

  • I’m guessing the guy standing up is ready to whip the “Tramp” person to row the boat.

Or, the guy standing up is holding up a torch, like Statue of Liberty, and the guy in front is in the middle of a “Running-Man” dance.

  • someone is crossing the line…… Equator in Uncle Sam’s Canoe Club

Forget what they call it, glad it wasn’t me….. nasty people doing nasty things…. but it’s all in fun right

  • My favorite era?   I don’t know, but I love the times when things were simpler, and a man’s word was kept regardless of whether it was on a piece of paper or not.

I was going to guess the navy ritual of crossing the equator, even though I don’t recall what it’s called…

  • My favorite era has to do with the late 1800-around 1920.  Love the furniture.  Love the houses.  Love the lore.  Also, I would love to follow the route of Lewis and Clark from start to finish.  I think that would be awesome.

  • RYC, haha, I had no idea… I would have guessed a large fishing boat at best.

  • have a good day.

  • Is he bing whipped with a cat o nine?

Hmm… I like them all I couldn’t pick, history is just so much fun.

Have a reat day mister. Ang

  • my favourite era? why this one of course!

  • Make him walk the plank…………..LOL…………..thanks for voting…….hugs.

  • Pirates of the Carribean!  Have you ever seen it at Disneyland? They have a dog sitting in with them…. hahahaha. MFE: Since my father was born in 1894 and my mother in 1898, I also like the late 1800′s and early 1900′s. I’m proud of my pioneer heritage….us farmers tilled the land — hard work and honest pay!

  • hmm
hope is is not going to do
    what it appears

  • Bleach free Era.  (hey-I’m a mom)

  • Yes I am a pirate – two hundred years too late

and I would say someone is fixin to walk the gang plank too…..happy full flower moon!

  • Night at the Museum was a really cute movie.  We saw it in the theatres and bought it when it came out on DVD.

  • He is being flogged and it looks like a “cat and nine tails” attachment.  A device of inhumane treatment.  Or, the ritualistic indoctrination in to the naval “big boys” club when crossing the equator.  One or the other

  • Never could get into the “wild west” days.  Something unsettling about it.  Too…something.

World War II, Roman Empire, height of the British Monarchy.  Those would be my favorites.
