MOTHERS SAID:
Funny fictional quotes from mothers in history…
NAPOLEON’S MOTHER: “All right, Napoleon. If you aren’t hiding your
report card inside your jacket, then take your hand out of there and
prove it!”
How are pregnant women and mothers treated in your country?
England
Pregnant women don’t receive much special treatment, according to Sasha Miller. “There’s little respect or reverence,” she says. “You can be standing on the bus, and people will stare at their newspaper and pretend they don’t see you.”

China & India
In China, once a woman becomes pregnant, the focus of the entire family is on her and her baby. According to Vidya Sen, the same holds true in India. Everyone in the family makes sure the mom-to-be is eating well and is protected from any hazards.
Sweden
“You can certainly expect to be given a seat on public transportation,” says Carina Westling. “At the same time, it’s not polite to assume that a pregnant woman needs lots of attention. In Sweden today, people are accommodating but don’t see pregnancy or motherhood as defining you. That would be considered rude.”
Dominican Republic
“Pregnancy and motherhood are ingrained in the culture of Latin American countries,” says BabyCenter editor Isidra Mencos. “Mothers and motherhood are revered, and pregnant women receive respect wherever they go.”
Canada
Sometimes women or older men will give you their seat on the streetcar, says BabyCenter editor Ann Elisabeth Samson. “One challenge is making sure that they know you’re pregnant, particularly in winter when you’re wearing a bulky coat,” she says. “I’ve been known to unbutton my coat and show my belly in order to get a seat.”Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah’s Ark
One : Don’t miss the boat.
Two : Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three : Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four : Stay fit When you’re 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five : Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six : Build your future on high ground.
Seven : For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.
Eight : Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine : When you’re stressed, float a while.
Ten : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven : No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.

Good morning!
I hope I don’t have to do anything let alone build an arc when I am 600 years old.
That’s generally quite true for moms in China and India, coz Indian and Chinese moms in Malaysia are treated the same.
I hope to see a rainbow in my situation soon.
in malaysia, pregnant women get A LOT of respect. because of them,we’re here.
Twelve: We’re all leaving at the same time, anyway, so enjoy your time in the line to the door. (made that up myself)
At work, moma’s to be nurses do not have to help pull up on patients. They are not allowed to take care of certain kinds of patients.
I like the lessons from the arc. Have a good day.
This was very nice! Like the moon at high noon as I was walking to work this morning – Life is Good!
I’m not sure I agree with the pregnancy thing.
I like theNoah’s ark analogy. Ang
When I was pregnant with my 2nd angel, my husband pushed me down, or was abusive, for the 1st time. He knew how to play that – waiting until I was at my most vulnerable. Same pregnancy – I was also told by a person at work that she had seen him leaving a bar with two females. Not good memories of pregnancy – but I got an awesome child out of the deal and learned a terrific lesson about my choice of men …
I love this!!You did good Randy!
Been missing you lately!
Love,
Deanna
When I was pregnant, I didn’t get any special treatment, but then, I live in Tx where I’m treated special all the time anyway.
– Men still open doors for us gals, allow us to take their seats and exit the elevator before them…living in Tx has its perks.
Interesting!
Good on the ark.
