MOTHERS SAID:
Funny fictional quotes from mothers in history…
LITTLE MISS MUFFET’S MOTHER: “Well, all I’ve got to say is if you
don’t get off your tuffet and start cleaning your room, there’ll be
a lot more spiders around here!”
ALBERT EINSTEIN’S MOTHER: “But, Albert, it’s your senior picture.
Can’t you do something about your hair? Styling gel, mousse,
something…?”
Family leave: The good, the bad, and the terrible
Canada
Working moms get a yearlong leave after they have a baby, and receive 55 percent of their salary during that year. This is a government benefit, and women are entitled to the same job or a comparable one when their leave is over. Many companies supplement this benefit with additional dollars during maternity leave.
Austria
Pregnant women get eight weeks off before and after the birth of their baby, and receive a full salary.
Cuba
Moms get six months maternity leave, with full salary.
India
The law requires employers to provide maternity leave, but BabyCenter editor Vidya Sen calls the law a “toothless tiger.” “It’s not enforced,” Sen says. “When a woman’s employer finds out she’s pregnant, although an employer won’t come right and ask her to leave, she’s often politely sidelined and made to feel unwanted.” Women employed by multinational corporations frequently fare much better, receiving as many as 90 days of paid leave, depending on the company.
United States The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), passed in 1993, guarantees three months of job-protected, unpaid family leave, but only to those who work for the government or large companies. A few states have, or are considering enacting, paid family leave provisions.

Sweden
Parents receive over a year of leave and other benefits, and they can share the time off, with each parent taking half the time off to be with the child. If either parent wants to work half-time, they can extend their benefits even longer. “The family leave policy in Sweden is wonderful for parents — and for children, too,” BabyCenter editor Carina Westling says.

Sandy and Grandma are coming down to the Beth Moore lecture this evening. Their garage is gone, 5th wheel, minivan and most of their windows. It was a God thing they are all okay.
Read this off constantbrat1′s site. Thought it was funny:
Things Your Mother Wouldn’t Say
“Be good and for your birthday I’ll buy you a motorcycle!”
“How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far back?”
“Don’t bother wearing a jacket–it’s quite warm out.”
“Let me smell that shirt–yeah, it’s good for another week.”
“I think a cluttered bedroom is a sign of creativity.”
“Yeah, I used to skip school, too.”
“Just leave all the lights on…it makes the house more cheery.”
“Could you turn the music up louder so I can enjoy it, too?”
“Run and bring me the scissors! Hurry!”
“Aw, just turn these undies inside out. No one will ever know.”
“I don’t have a tissue with me–just use your sleeve.”
“Well, if Timmy’s Mom says it’s okay, that’s good enough for me.”
“Of course you should walk to school and back. What’s the big deal about having to cross a few main streets?”
“My meeting won’t be over till later tonight. You kids don’t mind if we skip dinner?
Family Leave — Sweden seems like a great place
But then again, they get taxed like 99%.
Sweden sounds pretty cool… Ang
Proud to be a mom
just glad they are adults now
whoa…and we live in the most
revered country in the world huh?
We have a lot of work ahead of us.
I keep falling asleep. I know you wrote something good about mothers, but I can hardly stay awake very long.
France also had settled an important family policy . I believe the fecondity rate of the French women is 1, 92 . This means new generation is assured .

I’ve really enjoyed your Mothers Quotes but in addition: if you are self employeed you don’t get anything given to you, but you can take as long as you can…I took 18 years and taught the kids to work with us along the way, it was the best 18 years of my life so far!!! Have a wonderful Mothers Day Weekend!
