  • Picnic

We went to Sioux Falls yesterday for a picnic with Brook’s biological family.  We enjoyed it.  It also served as Brook’s birthday party. (She’s 17)  Towards the end of the picnic a boy came over and started yelling at us.  He started talking in a 3rd party conversation.  He told us that “Sargon” was thirsty and wanted a pop. (I asked the boy later and he told me his name was Alvin.) When he stated to get violent Brook’s grandmother called the police.  At that point I gave him a soda and walked him away from the group.  He hid from the police when he saw the car coming, but the police officer found him and guided him home.  The boy was mentally challenged for sure.  The freaky part to it was the boy kept saying, ”I hate you sullivan.”  (The last name of Brook’s mom and grandmother is Sullivan.)

  • what a strange situation!  hope you have a great day and a wonderful week !!!!!!

  • You handled the situation beautifully. I’m glad you were there to diffuse it.

  • Oh my, I can’t believe Brook is 17 already! Where does the time go? That’s great that you got to spend Brook’s birthday with her biological family! I love how you keep the kids involved with their other family too.  That’s too bad the little boy had to come and start trouble.  At least you handled it well.   Poor little guy!
