I went to a new church in Collridge Nebraska last night to speak about Children’s Ministry. I enjoyed it. On my way back I stopped by to see my Grandmother. She will be 95 years old. I had to chuckle because I was asking her about the drought of the 1930′s. When I did she said, “Oh, you remember that?” I told her I remembered reading about it.
This is our present bridge:
This is what the bridge will look like when it’s done:
They are beginning to build it right now. Here are some bridge construction pictures:

I bet she did remember it. Here in Texas they had to close Lake Whitney because it was 28 ft. over or whatever they call it.
While my grandmother was alive, I was able to ask her about the depression. She died in 1994. Her age was what ever the year was., so she was 94. Isn’t it fun to ask older people what they remember!
My grandmother talks a lot about how it wasn’t as hot in the summer when she was a child as it is now. She said they always left the doors open and no one ever got too hot. Can’t do that now wooo!
The new bridge looks barely there compred to the old bridge.
Bless your grandma. I would have told her, “sure I do…but I forgot.” 95 years old!! That’s amazing…she has volumes to tell her family, still. Ask all the questions now. I wish my grandma was still here. She was as sharp as a tack until about two months before she passed on…and then she was funny…very funny.
Isn’t it amazing what man can build? And still it is puny to what God builds in our souls, only if we are willing receipients. Bless you Randy.
Children and elders are my very favorite people, I wish more people could understand that if we don’t minister to them we are going to be in a world of hurt someday soon……
I bet your grand is a hoot…I miss both mine
they were quite funny when they were still here.
That bridge is going to be awesome indeed.
