  • Vacation

Vacation is going great.  I’m in Sturgis, South Dakota right now.  The huge bike ralley starts Monday here in Sturgis and there are so many motorcycles right now.  We’re having a lot of fun staying at our cabin. (It’s about 15 miles out of Sturgis.)  The cabin is in the middle of a forest so we have a lot of wild life that come close.  Yesterday we saw about 25 turkeys walking in the back yard.  Many of the turkeys were babies.  The deer come really close, as we see close to 30 each day.  It’s great.  We’ve road the 1880′s train, went in a cave that had a waterfall and other things.  Last night we went to church in Spearfish and they didn’t have anyone doing the children’s program, so the Pastor in charge asked me if I would like to do the children’s service.  I was excited to do it and we had a lot of fun.  ”Ready in season and out of season.”

I’ll post pictures when I get back.  I have a limited time here at the library so I’ll respond to comments over the weekend.

  • Ain’t Life Grand – the full moon a few days ago was called the Full Buck Moon cause this is the time when young bucks get their velvety antlers – are you seeing that too?…..watch out for those hoggs

  • Oh deer! Sorry. Couldn’t help it.

Yep, Ready at any moment! You did very well.

  • I just went to the sturgis cam there. There are millions of motorcycles in the street!

  • that is so cool! and I bet there are alot of babyboomers there. I will forward to the photos but I don’t think I would go with all the people -don’t like crowds but the cabin sounds delightful.

  • I have been through Sturgis.  We just drove through though.  Glad you vacation is going well

  • enjoy ur trip and have a safe trip coming back home!

  • Oh I love places where you’re so close to the wildlife. That’s really neat.

    Glad you’re having fun!

  • Sounds like you’re having an awesome vacation in the black hills! We will be in Yankton next Saturday the 10th for Derek’s grandmother’s 90th birthday party.   That will be exciting.   We’re not sure yet, but we may spend the night in Yankton and possibly attend church that Sunday.   It would sure be nice to see everybody .

I think it was last week, we were at wal-mart and ran into John Kidney.   He was here helping his mother out.   Now that was weird .   I guess it’s such a small world, you never know who or when you’ll run into someone you know, hahaha…

  • Ahh!  The wonders of God’s creatures in the natural habitat.  Do you ever feel you are an intrusion?  Sometimes I do in that kind of landscape but never fail to be in awe of what God provides us in the visual.  He is awesome.

  • Glad to see you were ready and able to help out with the children!  Hope your vacation continues to go well!
