Imagination
The surface speed record on the moon is 10.56 miles per hour. It was set with the lunar rover.
If you could drive to the sun — at 55 miles per hour — it would take about 193 years
The moon is one million times drier than the Gobi Desert.
Just twenty seconds worth of fuel remained when Apollo 11′s lunar module landed on the moon. The planet Saturn has a density lower than water. So, if placed in water it would float.
Since 1959, more than 6,000 pieces of ‘space junk’ (abandoned rocket and satellite parts) have fallen out of orbit – many of these have hit the earth’s surface. When I was a boy I loved playing in the outside garage. (I grew up behind a gas station.) I would spend hours in the garage arranging all the old radios and electrical parts as a space ship. In my imagination I would blast off to outer space.
Where did your imagination take you as a child?
& Do you put the Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving?

Somewhat where I am now. I dreamed of being a nurse.
My imagination took me to all ends of the universe. I am a big Star Wars/Star Trek fan, and as a kid was an avid reader.
Christmas tree is up. I didn’t put it up, but, it is up. Generally our rule of thumb is to wait until after thanksgiving, but with family coming in early, the wife was super diligent!
no you put it up after and I wish the stores would, too.
I was a curator of my own museum. I would have a piece of lumber and put it up on bricks and laid my things with little signs telling you the age and facts. antique road show at 10yrs old
I try to put up the tree on Pearl Harbor Day, it’s my Moms birthday. All I ever wanted to be was a Vet, then I got old enough to take algebra and I changed my mind…….now I wish I had done the math!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
I don’t put one up, because I am lazy. I just try to mooch off of other people’s trees.
To answer your question….
Our tree has been up since the 30th of October.
I finally put some decorations on it this week.
Blessings,
Susie :0)
I usually put up my tree the weekend after Christmas, but I’m not sure about this year. We have a very playful kitten… It may cause too much havoc and my son says that he really doesn’t care. Have a fulfilling Thanksgiving!
my imagination took me almost everywhere. and no it is not a sin to sing christmas carols before thanksgiving (if so i would be guilty) there has been some controversy regarding the origin of the “christmas tree” but my tradition is to put up the tree in remembrance of the cross (the tree on which he died for me). our tree just happens to be white so i tell my girls how his blood washes us whiter than snow and all the decorations and ornamentation is how he gives us beauty for ashes, he takes a life full of sin and cleanses it and turns it into something beautiful. i may write a book about it someday. i thought i would like the legend of the christmas tree but i didn’t. i was disappointed with it. i like my version better. not to sound conceited. well i better go before i stick my foot in my mouth.
I had acres and acres of woods to explore…. fought many battles out there. My mom also had a VW bug, made a great airplane
Happy Birthday to you and your family too Randy. BTW…As a child, I loved reading science fiction and Captain Picard is my all time favorite Star Trek captain. Some of their best episodes helped me realize that some religions are really like the Borg…”Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.” : )
Did I type Happy Birthday? My word!…I’m really losing it this Thanksgiving.
“If you could drive to the sun — at 55 miles per hour — it would take about 193 years”, you haven’t seen my wife drive !
I always wanted to fly ! Too much superman I guess !
