  • All I know that today is called Black Friday. Weird name.

  • Nope, we do most of our shopping when people are working..... much easier.  And besides, there are better deals after 'black friday' when all the retailers are glooming that the sales weren't as good as they wished.... muhaahaahaa

Besides I wouldn't wanna kick some old lady's butt just to get a Elmo whatever thing

  • I am very careful to stay away from the stores today.  A mad shopping rush is not what Christmas is about.  We will be taking our dog visiting to the nursing home this morning and this afternoon, I will try to learn how to use our MP3 player.

RYC:  Yes, I agree ...it would have been so nice to have been with family yesterday.

I think it's called Black Friday because that's when merchants can start making some profit and get out of the red zone...something like that.  "Black Friday" sounds wicked...

  • No.  I do not have that woman gene...that whole shopping thing does not get me excited at all.  I can handle one or two stores and then I'm tired.  I don't shop on Black Fri, either.  I was up at 630, cleaned the house, and have been sipping coffee and piddling around the house.  Both the boys are home.  Beresford was nice.  :)

  • this is the day I stay away from the stores but then I like craft and antique stores and I'm making it easy on myself again this year and use the gift cards and money.

  • RYC: Yah, my daughters try that with me. making me laugh to get out of trouble...sometimes it works...except with their dad LOL!!

Today is NOT my shopping day, You bet your tail, Ill be avoiding the stores like the plague!!!

My poor husband works in a store =( Hope they dont kill him LOL!

  • HA! Yah, I know. I feel bad for him LOL....He is supervisor for the lumber area at a home depot, so its not like hes in a mall or anything, BUT, He should have fun trying to sell the shipment of crooked boards they got last week....Home depo WONT let him discount them! They still are having sales... Today you can get a 16 gallon shop vac for 29.99 ;) wee oh! lol! Not exactly what Im shopping for LOL!

  • We usually don't go shopping on Black Friday, but today we are.

  • How many children do you have?!?!? It sounds like a houseful!!! We have 3 girls together, and he had 2 boys...and I want 1-2 MORE...depending.

  • Very wonderful looking family :) I bet youre all BUSY!!! Love the white christmas tree (my husband refuses to buy one LOL)

  • Looks like you need a longer staircase.  LOL

  • I won't be shopping today. I hate "normal" shopping so this insane shopping day is avoided at all costs. I won't even buy groceries today if I can help it. LOL

    What a lovely family!

(and I love white christmas trees, but I'm ignoring it because my "christmas switch" hasn't been flipped yet either...)

  • Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.  Judi

  • I went to the grocery store. I figured This would be a good day for grocery shopping.

  • That is a great picture!  I avoid shopping on this day... Working at Cracker Barrel in the gift shop makes me want to hide at home during this crazy time of year.

  • Great pic.  I didn't realise you had so many kiddies!  That's a lot of work (and a lot of love).  When were you in the Navy?  How long were you in the British Virgin Islands for?  I know some of the islands very well.

  • what a beautiful family you have!  your wife and kiddos are braver than me.  i stay far, FAR away from anything resembling a mall or shopping center on this day!  hope you had a blessed thanksgiving!!!

  • I wouldn't go shopping today unless I REALLY needed something!! LOL Thanks for that happy thanksgiving and back at you!

Whats up with the Christmas tree on thanksgiving! LOL Just teasing...

  • I hope you had fun shopping! Keep the economy afloat!

  • I live in Canada.  Our thanksgiving was in October BUT I have heard that shopping after thanksgiving in the States is CRAZY!!!!  Our big shopping day is Boxing day (Dec 26th) Lots of sales that day!  Thanks for the add!  Great family picture BTW!

  • Hello!

    Wow, what a wonderful picture!

So sorry for not commenting back at once. So much school work and projects kept me occupied, besides that, I was sick, a severe case of sore throat. I am a bit okay now, not totally, though.

I am a tad late to greet you this, Happy Thanksgiving! (better late than never, lol)

    Have a great weekend!

    Annika

  • I can only imagine what the stores were like today.  I would have loved to go shopping there.  We don't have sales like that in Canada.

  • Did your wife and daughter get some good buys. God Bless, Judi

  • Yea for Christmas gifts going to get a few of my own tonight. Judi

  • Yeah, I have twins. A boy and a girl.

  • What a cute family picture. Thanks for sharing.

  • I was WISE I did not shop on Black Friday.
I cease in doing so. This is my 2nd year of that.

The ladys out number you man in your family.
    Have A GREAT Week Ahead!

    Blessings,
    Susie   :0)

  • Wow, beautiful family. A moment like this makes me realize America's future is in safe hands. I like the type of necklace Mrs.7777 is wearing. Best wishes to everyone.

P.S. I'm a big fan of beautiful wallpaper. I have been considering painting and putting up a nice pattern like that. Surprisingly people tell me wallpaper is "so northern." Well I'm from the north and I just love it. So be it, I say.

  • that's amazing, my tree is white with blue ornaments (actually blue, white, and silver ornaments) nice family picture. are you going to use it as a christmas card?

  • beautiful picture!

I tried shopping a little yesterday but felt lack of air

in the store! had to get out!

I saw William Fauntroy a few days ago, one of the first

disciples of Martin Luther King ( I notice you are  a Christian minister).

He sang "To reach the Unreachable star".. it was so good.

    take care!

    Mrs. Nakai

  • My sympathy to you on your family out shopping. I hope you recover soon. Great picture of the family.

  • Good picture!  By the time we went to Walmart Friday afternoon, the crowds had considerably thinned out.  I tried shopping at 5 am the day after Thanksgiving one year, just to see what it was like.  Never again!
