Invention
I was speaking to a young person a few months ago. I was telling the person about some plans we have for the church. I was goofing around and said I could take out my cell phone and project the new image on the wall. Without blinking an eye he said, “I’d like to see that.” I had to tell him I was just kidding around. I told this to my younger teenage daughter and she said, “Dad they have cell phones that will work like a projector.” In talking to more younger people I have found that they believe technology can do anything. Makes me wonder what the world is going to look like in 10 years.
What kind of device would you invent to make your life easier?
I would invent a true universal remote.
It would: Start my car, open my garage, change the channels on my TV, operate the stereo, answer the phone, turn on my house lights and only operate by my voice command.

A robot to keep organized what I don’t have time to do but want to. It would have the ability to do be a handyman in addition to cleaning, cooking and organizing. It would have the ability to learn new tasks either by downloading the instructions or reading them from a sheet of paper.
Let me bask in that dreamworld for a second……
…….
……
Ahhh…..
OK, back to reality……..
it’s a garment for woman to collect sweat in their upper body-I work on a solution every summer because we need it.
I like bubenun’s idea. A Mr.Gadget kind of guy to help around the house, also he could talk to me when I wanted him to…and then I could turn him off and on whenever I wanted w/o a single argument. *sigh*
I don’t know if I would want another device to make my life easier. It seems to me that the easier life gets the more complicated things are and we become more stressed and over worked. We are expected to do too much in one day because of these things that are supposed to make things easier and better.
I believe your suggestion–a true universal remote–is well on its way to being here. No doubt about it! In the 60′s, I told my mom that someday we will have cars that you can just tell them where you want to go and it will take you. The person will not have to operate it – it will drive itself by your commands.
I would like cars to have sensors or force fields to prevent collisions. I would worry a lot less with my son on the road in our only car!
I like your invention. I definitely need help cleaning house. Really, I’d just like to clone me. Forget reinventing the wheel, I just need an extra wheel!
WoW, tough question, so many things now that make life so much easier. XM radio, laptops, wifi, wireless pc cards, cell phones, digital cameras, just in the last 20 years technology has come so far.
But yet are we satisfied with it, or just more annoyed when it doesn’t work. Maybe life is to complicated with stuff now.
I may need to get back with you on this one.
I joke with one of my friends….
Wonder who could invent a device to control the weather?
We can have a device that wherever we go the weather would be just right for us.
There would be a ratio to how far the weather would go…
It is COLD now with the snow.
I am glad it was not freezing rain as “they said” it would be.
great question. i would invent transporter, like in star trek, that gets me to places in an instant. we waste so much time traveling…
