    Today's Cartoon
My most memorable Christmas was many years ago.  My oldest had something wrong that the Doctors here in Yankton couldn’t figure out.  They sent us to the Omaho, Nebraska’s Children’s Hospital.  That was just before Christmas.  My wife and I took turns staying at the hospital with Kristina.  My turn to go back to the room fell on Christmas Eve.  I stayed at the hospital as long as I could then went back alone.  I hurt so very badly going into that room by myself.  I began to think of how Joseph must of felt.  He couldn’t even provide for his wife who was going to give birth in a little while.  I could hear Mary say, “Joseph you must hurry to find us a place, the baby is coming soon.”  Then to settle for a barn.  I think that night I felt a little bit of Joseph’s dispair.  Then I began to think of what happened in the middle of that Christmas night.  The skies lit up.  Hope came back into my heart as I sensed God was telling me, “It’s dark now, but the skies will lite up.”  I had a good nights sleep and went to the hospital early.  I entered the hospital room, I saw Kim & Kristina still sleeping.  What I saw besides that lit up my entire world.  Someone had come into the room during the night and filled it with presents.  It was so warming.

  • That is a wonderful memory, really makes me realize how important it is to pay attention to the lives of others. sometimes the things that seem small to us could make a huge difference in the life of someone else even if its only for a moment.

Merry Christmas! Stay out of the hospital!

  • My most memorable Christmas was in 1987… I gave birth on December 21 by C-section, and got the cursory insurance-paid four day stay.  On Christmas morning, the ladies’ auxiliary at the hospital had made stockings the nurses used to slip each baby into and then wheel their bassinets down to the mom’s rooms…  As I was dressing and getting ready to go home, my Christmas present was brought to me!  (I still have that stocking, and my 20 year old is embarassed to have me parade it out to show people!)

  • I dont suppose Im old enough to have any stories like yours…its a wonderful story…well..memory…

But…I guess, The “funniest” christmas memory I have to remember, was the first year my brother, sister and I had ever talked my mom into letting us open something on christmas EVE…Usually, we HAD to wait…Well, That year, the ONE thing I had wanted was a Sega Genesis…So, I avoided the “big” boxes that could have been the sega, not wanting to choose my “BIGGEST” present…Well, I settled for something smaller, Opened my gift to find…A SEGA GENESIS GAME…So much for not ruining my suprise *laughs* Maybe this isnt as heart felt as the others, but, we kinda laugh about it at every christmas.

  • Praying your Crhistmas is blessed. I think my favorite Christmas memory was when my kids were little. We put them to bed, they were waiting for Santa to come. My husband jingled some bells and they were out of bed in a snap.
