  • Secret

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.” - Deuteronomy 29:29 NASB

Are you one that likes secrets?   Are you good at keeping secrets?

  • I am awful at keeping secrets and no I don’t like them. It feels so much better when things are all out in the open.

  • It depends on what kind of secret. If it’s a gift they want me to keep secret, that’s no big deal, but I relate most other secrets in a negative light. – Child molestors want us to keep things secret, liars, theives, drug users and other law breakers have many secrets, so I usually relate secrets w/ sin.

    Happy New Year to ya.

  • No… No I would not like butchering a pig. :|

I have a ton of secrets. And I am a fantastic secret keeper.

  • well, i am a counselor, so I’ve kept many a secret over the years…my friends revere me for that…*sigh*  although I wish there were secrets I didn’t have to keep…but sometimes the negative energy they create is not something to perpetuate.  Interesting question, Randy!  Happy New Year!

  • I’m a nurse. Heard of Hippa?

Mom thought she would get a little parttime job and it was at the KFC; she had to sign a paper that she wouldn’t let the,” secret recipe out.” Well, mom wouldn’t sign it and said,”what if someone got me drunk and I couldn’t help it?”

  • ryc- we made those gingerbread men from sandpaper and that dimensional paint for t-shirts… traced cookie cutters… the year we did them we made the m for every one in the extended family! easy peasy… I bet your kids would love doing them!

As for secrets.. I don’t much like them, keep them very well, and rarely tell anyone mine!

  • Yeah, I’m good at secrets, both making them and keeping them…

  • RYC: Its funny you say new years baby, Lastnight I SERIOUSLY thought we were on our way to the hospital LOL

  • I have to be… if I want to keep my security clearance.

  • No, not good at secrets….well, not usually

  • If a secret seems more like gossip, I try to not listen to begin with, and I really try hard to not pass it on, especially if it it harmful.

Also like Jillcarmel said, I am a nurse too and hepa prevents a lot of discussion. I don’t even tell my preacher if a member is sick or if a family member dies. It could get me in a lot of trouble.

  • Hey! I know it’s a little late, but I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you the greatest of blessings for the New Year.

    Peace

  • I just wanted to let you know that I quoted you in my xanga (I think I did in the past but then changed it to another quote since yours seem a bit more fitting for another question). Merry (belated) Christmas and Happy (early) New year! =D

PS. I find it funny that I read this entry when my mom just bought a book titled “The Secret” (not sure what it’s about yet though).

  • No I don’t like secrets.  As they say at NA – secrets keep you sick.  Will keep them but always encourage people not to have them.

  • I really dislike secrets — especially family secrets; because someone always knows the truth and is usually willing to tell for the right motivation (which is usually wrong).  Secrets regarding presents and such offer such a temptation to lie in order to keep the secret that I wonder if it’s worth it.
