More of Africa
This was a paper trick. They loved doing it. I found that the Nigerians are so child like.
Nobak was our driver. (In Nigeria if someone gets into an accident the biggest person is claimed at fault. So a small Nigerian is choosen as a driver.) The lady is his fiancee. He will have to negotiate for her. His Uncles are going to talk to the family this week sometime and find out what the bride price is. Nobak was a wonderful person.

I love the first photo… they look so full of joy
Looks wonderful. What a beautiful woman.
you sure seem to be having an adventure!
i guess all of us does have little child in us.
his fiancee is beautiful. Our tradition wedding does that as well, where the man come to the bride’s house and speak with her parents and the elder like ucles/aunts about how they want the wedding to be and how muuch everything going to cost.
she is absolutely gorgeous!! and the smiles on the other faces are infectious! what a blessed time you must have had…..
There are hundreds (at least) of Kenyan refugees in Uganda right now, mostly Kikuyus. For a while, the border was closed, but it’s open again now. The main direct effect on Uganda has been fuel prices – at the beginning of January the price of fuel in Uganda (which is imported exclusively from Kenya) shot up to around 16 dollars a gallon. Obviously, transportation has been a little difficult! I’m praying that peace will be restored soon…I have some really good friends in Kenya.
If I were Alicia, I would have been too scared to be so close to a baboon! Those are known to be mean! Plus it was huge! I’m glad you had a good time in Africa. That must have been a good experience.
take care,
~Snow
Thanks for sharing the photos.
Some of the photos brought back some memories.
I got to see some photo of some of my ancestors.
Your photos reminds me of my Great Grandpa Isaac BLAKEY.
He was said to have been of Nigerian descent.
He had very high cheek bones like those in the photos.
Also,Thanks for your comment. May God Bless you. :0)
They have childlike joy, which is what I think all of us should have… Sometimes we become too jaded.
I hope Nobak and the lady gets to wed
He’ll get his own joy, too!
yeah, reminds me of truck drivers they’re always at fault in accidents…. even if AAA says itself that 78% of truck car accidents are caused by the cars….
Awesome pictures
those are so cool.
That’s very odd about the driver thing.
That driver thing is so funny.
Quite a few people use motor bikes, mostly as taxis. There are more bicycles than anything else. The conflict in Kenya is tribal – it’s Luo and Kalinjin against Kikuyu. The incumbent president, Kibaki, is Kikuyu, and he has been giving Kikuyu businesspeople special privileges for the past 5 years. There was an election on December, and it looked like the opposition party leader, Odinga, was going to win, but at the last minute a bunch of votes came in for Kibaki. Most people think the election was rigged, and the outrage over that sparked a lot of violence. It’s mostly been aimed at Kikuyus, because everything thinks they’re getting unfair advantages.
I like all your pictures.
