  • William Tyndale

WilliamTyndale_Fish.jpgWilliam Tyndale topped King Henry VIII’s “Most Wanted” list in 1535 and was pursued across Europe by the king’s bounty hunters.

What is his crime? Murder? Theft? No, none of these. William Tyndale’s “crime” was translating the Bible into English for the common people.  He was willing to risk his life for this cause. He was executed for this.

When I studied William Tyndale it made me grateful for the government we have in America. We may not always agree with our leadership. We may prefer one party over another. The fact remains we live in a free country that has checks and balances. So yes I am grateful for Republicans and Democrats. I wouldn’t want a country with only one party.

What historical figure is your favorite?

Kosovo has formally declared its independence from Serbia and become the world’s newest state.

I just found out some disturbing news:  24 will not air this year.  The next show will be January 2009.  What will I do?

  • There are too many interesting people to choose a favorite…but I wanted to tell you that I received a copy of Tyndale’s New Testament for Christmas and I am reading through it. I saw a special exhibit about Tyndale at the British museum in London and we lived not far from where he was a boy. Something like 95% of the King James Bible is Tyndale. He was specially used of the Lord!

  • J.C. Ryle is my favorite and I LOVE Dems and Republicans keeping each other at bay…..

  • Things are pretty screwed up with our gov’t, but I have to admit, it could be a LOT worse! Today I’m grateful that I don’t live in Kosovo

  • this is the best country to live in for us cause we are a Judeo-Christian counrty

I would say the person I admire most is the father, son and holy ghost  -no a human?  I like Eleanor Roosevelt, Margaret Mead, Ann Morrow Lindberg, and Jane Goodall. there are so many people I admire it would include men also.

Kosovo has had a hard time of it.

  • Lately I have been fascinated with Fanny Cosby. She really had a talent!

  • I love to read British history and see how it affected, not only the formation of the US, but also the world.  It is fascinating to me to read about the royal families.  If I need to select a historical figure from the US, it might be Ronald Regan.

  • I’m rather fond of Dmitri Mendeleev, Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Marie Curie, Sally Ride, and Thomas Jefferson. (I know, like sesame street, one/some of these things is/are not like the others. LOL)

  • oh i know about 23!!!  ahhhhhh!!   so not cool!!!!

  • if the parties weren’t trying to become the same it would be much better . . . McCain says he wants to “reach across” the isle and work with… I’d rather he reached across and slapped them hard . . . LOL

Oh Well, hopefully we Obama won’t get the Dem Primary and lead us down the road to another FDR depression

  • I love the history…….I dont really have a true favorite except I use to like the part where the British were coming……..Sound the alarm……And it was done on horseback.

  • Ronald Reagan is my favorite historical figure. :)

  • Billy Graham.
