    UNCONTACTED TRIBE’ SIGHTED IN AMAZON

Dramatic photographs have emerged from Brazil, showing a rare tribe thought to have had no contact with the outside world.

Taken from a small airplane, the photos show men outside thatched communal huts, necks craned upward, pointing bows toward the air in a remote corner of the Amazonian rainforest.

What do you think is going through their minds?

  • Yeah saw the pics on Fox News. WOW.  I think FEAR was going through their minds….

  • I saw the pics on Yahoo, amazing by the way. I think basic survival instinct kicked in to protect their homes and the people living in the village. In one of the pics, it looks like they are pointing their bow and arrow towards the plane.

  • I must be jaded. I thought “Somebody just pulled a big one over on the world. Movie set…”

  • I saw those on Yahoo this morning. I think they were scared spitless.

  • I’m reminded of the old R.E.M. song “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It”.

Indeed it is. But, like the song says, they’ll be fine.

  • The thing that jumped out at me as I read the story was “They’re calling these people ‘INDIANS’?”  (That isn’t very PC is it?)  Then I had to wonder, “If they’re so concerned about these tribes keeping their ways, then why are they flying over them in airplaines?”  Isn’t that a very big introduction to the civilized world?  I guess you can just call me a cynic.

  • I have thought about athat since I saw it.  Amazing that in this day and age, there are still people that have not heard the name of Jesus.

  • I’m sure there was great fear when the plane came above them.

  • What would you do if a dragon came flying over your house.  If you had a gun you might have the same reaction (to protect your family).

  • The news report kept stressing over and over and over how logging and evil civilization in general was threatening these people. To me that was a red flag that they mabe be fake ala The Tasaday tribe from the Philippines which turned out to be a bust. Even if this tribe is real I wonder how truly untouched they are.

If they are isolated to any degree I suppose they were out looking at the helicopter. They’ve seen one before as I doubt the photographer just happened to be there for the first time with the camera at the ready at such a perfect angle. They may find helicopters and planes interesting and come to the clearing to look up. I bet they almost always are carrying a spear or some sort of stick anyway.

I hear a traffic copter right now as I type. Traffic copters, police, new stations all have them. If I were outside I’d be twisting my head around looking for it because it is just interesting. If the Metlife blimp or a hot air baloon is going around the city I can’t take my eyes off either one! Many times I’ve stood on the sidewalk transfixed satring at aircraft.

Hah. You know how people drive down the road and stick their head out the car window to moo at cows? Are there other cows off to the side asking each other what those people must be thinking.

I guess this is why I’m not working for the State Department.
