Abortion
Results of a New South Dakota Law:
It’s still unclear what the long-term impact will be, but at least on a short-term basis, a South Dakota law that was finally allowed by the courts to take effect has rattled the cage of abortion practitioners in the state. Initially Planned Parenthood was closed, and women arriving for abortions were turned away with no explanation. The law requires doctors to inform women at least two hours prior to an abortion of the humanity of their babies, and that the procedure could affect their mental health (see some of the messages from women below). We’ll see if this law will continue to keep the out of state doctors who come to perform abortions away from our borders.
