    *Parking Solution*

A pastor of a two-church parish had to drive every Sunday morning about 4 miles from the 9:30 service at one church to the 11 o’clock at the other. He would often find the parking lot of the second church full, and be forced to park down the road and race to the church on foot.

The problem was finally solved when he selected a parking spot near the side door of the church and posted a sign that read, “You Park – You Preach.”

Just curious:  Does your church consider visitors when it comes to parking or is the 1st ones that get there get the best parking?

  • i don’t mind walking esp when it good weather but not when it snow or rain.

    have a good day!

  • there is not real “bad” parking at our church. We have some parking designated for pregnant women and those with newborns

  • LOL ~ that was funny!  We don’t have very much parking at our church, but when we do have a big ‘DO’ on, I will park on the grass out of the way……..so everyone can park in front of me….which makes me have to leave last….which isn’t  a problem anyway – cause I often do.

  • We have a few visitor parking places and some handicapped places too….I like the Pastor’s solution!

  • interesting.  our church lot has visitor parking closest.  we have a “handicap”/senior parking lot.  the pastors park at the far end of the large lot… it’s kinda strange but it’s by choice to make everyone else more important.  they did this at the old building too.

  • There is nothing posted but it is sort of an unspoken rule that most members adhere to the front parking is for the Seniors of the church and visitors. I went to a different church last Saturday for a music/praise team conference and they had clearly marked parking for Seniors, which is cool. Oh, and several slots marked for expectant mommies.

  • We have handicapped parking and leave the close parking for seniors and people with children. I always park in back because it is shady there and I can find my car again.

  • When my kids were little I always parked by the side walk so I didn’t have to worry about them being maniacs and running into traffic

  • I think we do alright. We meet in a Community Center. For the most part we do pretty good.

  • I try to park alittle aways from every place I go cause who knows what trials the other person is going through-all those years of being a nurse I guess.

  • Those serving on Sunday mornings are encouraged to park the furthest away (our back lot as we call it).

We also have 10 spots near the front entrance that are marked “GUEST” for those that are visiting our church.

Being that we arrive early and leave late I don’t know how well all that is followed. Easier said than done!
