1. As a parent what is your greatest concern/fear?
2. What Question would you ask parents?
3. What is the greatest fear your child has?
Thanks in advance for answering the questions. I’m going to use it as a “family feud” type game.

I was on a Social Services panel last night. A worker was training new foster parents. It was a question and answer panel. I enjoyed answering the questions of the new foster parents. It renewed my vision of helping children and parents. One of the questions that was asked was: What’s the hardest thing about fostering? I really couldn’t think of any one thing. We always look forward to and seek new foster children. One disturbing thing that is happening (because of the economy) is a lot of children are coming into the foster system. I’m going to be seeking a way to help parents in this time. Any thoughts on how?
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have
chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 — I’ll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven’t, add 1758.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are:
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK.
-a very disappointing day today. I’m very hurt. I’m glad I don’t have too many days like this.
The world is constantly changing. It’s often in turmoil, and many who trust in this life have been shaken. The world economy has swung wildly. Governments and politicians have groped for solutions. People around the world have wondered what to do.
If we are not careful, we will allow our hearts and minds to be shaped by this environment of change and unreliability. Yes, governments might change. People might disappoint us. Policies may, or may not, be effective. We may face problems, persecutions, and difficulties.
As Christians we must remember that no matter what takes place in the world, Jesus never changes. His plans are fixed and firm. His character is unwavering. We always can hope in Him!
I sure need today as my day off. I’m almost at the point that I want to break things. – not really but it feels good to say. I’m so filled full of excitement & heaviness over this summer. I’ve been trying to calm myself down this past week but haven’t been able to. Today I have to or I’ll self destruct.
Thanks for all the comments on Marriage vr Living Together. It helps me keep the correct perspective when I talk to this generation of young people.
I love listening to Hank Williams – “I saw the Light”. It takes me back to when I was a young boy. I played it on my Mom’s record player. You know the record players that were as big as a small couch.
I was listening to a young lady as she told me her life story. She allowed this guy to move in with her and her kids. She told me that at first he gave her a lot of attention but now he doesn’t. She was wanting to know what she did wrong. I asked her a question: What’s the difference between living together and marriage. Her answer was this: “I would rather lease a vehicle before I purchase it, just to make sure it’s the car I really want.” I thought about her answer and realized that is the way this generation thinks. -The “Wall Mart” generation - They approach life, “to get something.” They go to church when they want to “get something”. Has consumerism been pounded in us so strongly that we think like it, in every area of our life? Has consumerism/democracy become our nation’s foundation replacing Christianity? If your answer is yes, what should we fight for?
Your thoughts?
I’m headed to Mitchell today to attend some work shops and recieve my, “Father of the Year” award. I’m excited.
I’m making plans for the kids, for the summer. It’s gonna be great. We may even tackle a sleep over. We’re also making plans for vacation. – Branson Missiouri.
What are your summer plans?
