Because of what Christ did for me, I am a sinner saved by grace. Therefore, I’m going to Heaven. Praise the Lord!
that’s really deep for first thing in the morning. When I would snow ski the instructer would say,”if you don’t want to go off the cliff don’t look there” so I look where I want to end up.
That skiing picture realy does portray this thought clearly! Where you focus is where you put your energies, your destination determines what you will feel like putting your most important actions into. Keep your eyes on God and you’ll go in the right direction! Happy Easter!
“Whose you are will determine where you are going.”
Those nails were pounded through the flesh of the Lamb of God because of my sin. Today is the day when it becomes very personal and it is hard to feel the weight of that sin. Yet, I need to feel it! When I take communion with my brothers and sisters in Christ at the candlelight service tonight, I will be on my knees in humility and gratitude that He paid the price for me. I belong to Him. Once dead, now alive in Christ! Eternal life!
Blessed Resurrection celebration, Pastor Randy.
i disagree – the journey/destination does not determine who you are, but it can help shape/mold you…
@guestbrief - thankyou -when skiing the instructions are that if you look at it your automatically go in that direction so I avoided looking off the cliffs but only where I wanted to go.lol
I have spent much time thinking about this in past years – specifically towards my purpose in life. This statement I have come to learn is true, but still only half of a bigger statement. The direction you are headed does indeed define your destination and that destination comes to define you, but there comes a point of an initial decision to head that direction – which defines you that much more. So it can be said that Who you are also determines where you’re going.
I see my direction in life as more of Me choosing to run after God and God pulling and propelling me forward. So as I push, He pulls – kind of like taking the escalator walk-ways at airports – you get there much faster, especially if you don’t turn around and run. =o) If you’re headed the wrong way though, turning around isn’t gonna help much – you have to get off the ride altogether.
