  • Panel

I was on a Social Services panel last night.  A worker was training new foster parents.  It was a question and answer panel.  I enjoyed answering the questions of the new foster parents.  It renewed my vision of helping children and parents.  One of the questions that was asked was:  What's the hardest thing about fostering?  I really couldn't think of any one thing.  We always look forward to and seek new foster children.  One disturbing thing that is happening (because of the economy) is a lot of children are coming into the foster system.  I'm going to be seeking a way to help parents in this time.   Any thoughts on how?

  • How sad for both the parents and the children. Ic an't imagine having to give up your kids because the economy is so bad. My prayers are with both the parents and the kids and the foster system, too!

  • you would know more then me for sure.

  • Have a checklist of support references for them....churches, food banks, Salvation Army, etc?

  • I think xThexGodfatherx has a great idea.  Parents just need all the help they can get sometimes.  They feel so alone, so if they had support, perhaps they'd be able to handle things.  I, too, pray for them.
