  • it does sound better.  I knew a fellow who said he was the trash collector and found out he was a cop but I kept the joke going everytime I see him.

  • How funny! I love it! Reminds me once when a girl (we were in a chat room) who didn’t like me called me “just a typist.” I got very offended as I am not “just a typist.” I am a medical transcriptionist. I not only type but have to know medical terminology for the big words that the physicians say, for example “choledocholithiasis” and “electrogastroduodenoscopy.” And the funny part was it was about 2 months later when I saw her in the chat room again complaining about her job, the work she had to do. She was talking about how she never got the credit for what she did (she was a receptionist but the attorney in her office was having her do paralegal-type work for her, or so she said). She was trying to tell everyone that basically she WAS a paralegal as she was doing all the research for the attorney, etc. I was SO tempted to speak up and say something like “Well, you may be doing the work, but you’re still “just a receptionist,” lol, but I didn’t! But I did find it funny about what she had said to me and it made me mad, yet she felt I had no right to be offended with being called “just a typist” when I am not just a typist but rather a specialist in my field, and yet then, there she was eating her own words. I often, from that time own, wanted to ask her….”Did that bring back to your remembrance what you said to me?” Funny how life plays out injustices, huh?

  • Oh, I wanted to add this. To me, that would be like calling a doctor (not that I in any way compare to a doctor, of course) an internist or a family nurse practitioner. They worked hard to get that “M.D.” degree and for someone to undermine them and call them either of the above would be a smack in the face if you ask me. I regard all work people do with respect, unless, of course, it’s illegal. But come to find out, the girl was mad at me because a boyfriend I used to have, when she got the chance to meet him, wouldn’t give her the time of day (even though he said she did everything but drop her clothes in front of him basically, lol). How funny! With some women, it’s that way, sadly…they see someone else that had a boyfriend and will do everything they can to try to prove they could get them, too, lol!

  • lol, we need people with “vision”! lol (optometrists too) :)

  • Sounds like something I’d say…
    From,
    ‘just the greenskeepers wife’
