Custody Battle
American history was driven by a weird turn of events. George Gale married a widow from Virgina and brought her back home to London, along with 3 of her children from a previous marriage. Not long after he arrived in England, Mildred Gale died in child birth. Her will directed her new husband to raise his stepchildren. He applied for legal custody, but Lawrence Washington from Virgina disbuted the case. A custody battled ensued, and Lawrence won the case. The children were returned to Virginia.
One of the children brought back was named Augustine. He had three children, one of which was named George Washington. The Revolutionary War hero and 1st President of the United States could of fought for the other side had not a trans-Atlantic custody battle ensued.

that could have been today, huh? I didn’t know all that.
Cool story! I see it over and over again how God directs things in our lives, and we aren’t even aware of it so many times. Then we are suddenly blessed when we see how HE has been directing things all along “behind the scenes’ for our own good. (Rom. 8:28-29) Blessings in your new year.
