  • Haiti

Anderson Cooper asked this question: "Where are the Arab nations?"  He was referring to the support of Haiti.

It was also reported that if aid is given to the Haitians, the gangs would violently take it away from them.  Do you think that the US should send in troops in order to keep order?

  • Haiti

Pat Robinson said that the reason the earthquake happened in Hati was because they have been cursed and had in the past signed a pact with the devil.  Story

He has come under a lot of fire.  Do you think he should of said that?

  • Frustration

Jesus asked, "Who touched me?" His disciples became frustrated at Jesus.
Here's what happened the previous 24 hours:
Dealing with the crowd who listened to His parables
Battled a night storm on the lake while Jesus slept
Landing off-course at the shore of Gerasa rather than at their home in Bethsaida
Witnessed an encounter with the demoniac and spending a good part of the day with a crowd that wanted them gone.
Returned to the northwest side of the lake and dealt with the crowd again
Changed itinerary again when Jesus is diverted by Jairus' request to come and heal his dying daughter
The disciples were exhausted, tired and hungry.  They were stressed out.
Jesus was focused upon His Heavenly Father and was sensitive to power leaving him.

Do we miss miracles because when God leads us to those places that aren't comfortable and we just want to refresh ourselves?

  • Winter

A guy was telling me how bad the snow is in the country around this area.  Most roads only have one lane because the snow plows can only punch through once.  The snow is too high to push the snow.  If we get a lot more snow the National Guard will have to be called in to blow the snow off the roads.  One of our main highways was just opened completely yesterday.  (It was one laned.)  The farmers around here are having a difficult time getting to their live stock.

  • Who was the 1st President of the United States?

Don't be so quick to say George Washington.  He was not our first President.  Washington was the first president elected under the Constitution, taking office in 1789.  John Hanson, in November 1781, became the first President of Congress to be elected under the terms of the Articles of Confederation.  He served only a year.  A colleague wrote:  "I congratulate your Excellency on your appointment to fill the most important seat in the United States."  That letter was signed by none other than George Washington.

Under Hanson's leadership, Congress established the Treasury Department, adopted the Great Seal of the United States and declared the fourth Thursday of every November "a day of Thanksgiving."

    How would Hanson DC sound?

  • Good Bye

Going to a funeral today.  Florence was scooping snow and developed a severe headache.  She was taken to the ER and massive bleeding in her brain was found.  She died.

We have another furneral on Monday.  Two teens found dead from accidental carbon monoxide poising.  Apparently the only church Cody (one of the teens) ever attended was our youth group a few years ago and that was only a couple of times.

    Death is never easy.
