  • Standing

As I was listening to the Bible this morning, the phrase, "Stay firm until the end" stood out.  I'm thinking about that statement.  I want to be found faithful when I stand before the Lord, my God.   I must strengthen my faith today, so I can run across the finish line.

  • Question

I like new ideas.  My plan today is to search for those new thoughts.  I know in seeking new ideas one has to have the right question.

If you can have one question answered what would be your question?

I'm not sure why I like the word nebulous on Star Trek, maybe because when a nebulous is shown it's beautiful.

  • Atomic

The book I'm reading has an account of the atomic bombs being dropped on Japan during WW2.  It was very descriptive and horrifing.  There was no where to hide.  Some went into the water but the smoke choked the person when he came up for air. What gripped me the most was parents not being able to protect their children.
It made yesterday so real as I watched the raw footage of the Omaho school shooting.  A mother was talking to her daughter on her cell phone. The daughter was in the school on the floor in the cafeteria.  "Mom, get me out of here" was her cry.  The mother was crying, claiming to be helpless towards helping her daughter.
There is nothing more precious than a parent and a child relationship.

Do you have any stories of when you protected your child?

I plan on having a insipid day.

  • Crisis

My two year old grandson is going through a crisis.  He thinks everything is his.  Boy does he think everything is his.  I MEAN EVERYTHING. He got upset when I told him that boys don't play with barbies.  Hopefully this stage passes soon.

America has an ominous cloud on the horizon.

  • Adventure

I think everyone likes some sort of adventure.  I have seen how young girls like to create drama.  I seen a 6th grade girl consoling other girls on Wednesday night.  I went up to her yesterday and told her it was good that she was helping other girls.  "Oh, they were crying because of me." she said.  She had told them something about her skin. (made up)  What I thought was a good thing, turned out to be made up drama.  I watched a few young people in a hurricane simulator at the mall.  -interesting  I walked away and asked myself, "Why?"  Adventure
I enjoy a good adventure book.  That's why I liked Digitilas so much.  I like reading stories during war. Why? -adventure.

If you had unlimited money what adventure would you like to go on?

This week I want the temporal to decrease and the eternal more in focus.

Word of the Day - Temporal

  • Start of New Years

We are heading into a week a prayer and fasting.  I have been feeling so lonely for God.  In my study of the Psalms I can't get Psalms 6 out of my mind.  If you read it you can almost see a guy loosing his mind in grief.  I suspect that one has to go to the depths to get to the heights.

How are you starting out your New Years?

I don't want to be flummoxed this week.

Word of the Day - flummox

  • Book Review of Digitalis

Mystery, secrecy, romance, devotion and struggle are just a few words that describe Digitalis.  Author Ronie Kendig wrote a suspenseful to the end novel.  I enjoyed Nightshade (first book in the Discarded Heroes series).  Digitalis book number two had me on the edge of my seat more than once.  I felt my heart racing, looking through the eyes of Colton, a member of a black ops group called Nightshade.  Flashbacks were only one of Colton’s enemies.  He relived his past and struggled for his future with Piper, a girl, which tugged on his heart and drew him into danger.  A perilous mission took the team to Israel, to save more than Piper’s father.  I couldn’t put this book down as each page unraveled a mystery that wasn’t revealed until the surprising end.  I found myself cheering Colton on as he struggled with his belief in God, his life and relationship.  Raw emotions described in great detail connected me to the main characters and drew me deeper into the story.  I look forward to the next book in this series: Wolfsbane

  • New

There are things in life that we want new.  I love this time of the year because I can start all over and be new.  What is new?  One of the definitions is: of a kind now existing or appearing for the first time.  Another definition is: unfamiliar or strange, coming or occurring afresh.  I like the last definition the best.  I think we all want things afresh.  So with that in mind below is my list of things I want new (to name a few):

    New freshness with Jesus
    New Friendships
    New Foster Children
    New Books
    Newness in Writing

What are the things you want new?

We do not have a diminutive family.
