  • What would you die for?

There is a saying pick your battles.  What battle is worth fighting?  I don't know anyone that wouldn't fight for their family.  I know a lot of people that would fight for God.

Besides these two areas: God and Family - What would you die for?

Family Feud Question: Name a time of day that people go to bed.

    Psalms 22:1-4
Word of the Day - verbose
I usually don't read verbose sites.

  • What do you say?

You have just been invited to speak to thousands of people.  The person that invited you said you are speaking because people want to hear what you say. You take the invitation.

    What would you speak about?

Random thoughts:  I could figure out how to shut my touch pad off on my lab top so I just put paper over it and it worked. Same as when I couldn't get the warning light to shut off on my van - I put duck tape over it so I couldn't see it.  - What's a random thought in your mind right now?

  • What's in a name

There are a lot of interesting names on xanga.
I'm curious - Why did you pick your xanga name and does it have a certain meaning?

I picked my name because Randy is my first name and 7777 because 4 in the Bible associates itself with imperfect or flesh and 7 associates itself with being perfect or completion.  I was born in sin and was a slave to the flesh; 25 years ago I was "Born Again" and became complete in Christ Jesus.

  • Rapture

Since it seems like everyone is talking about the rapture, I'll jump on the bandwagon.  I joked around with my Pastor this morning and told him not to play a joke on us and not show up tommorrow.  We had a discussion of this topic this morning at our Men's group.  Jesus predicted that there would be those that will falsely report Christ's appearance. He said, "Don't believe them."  A lot of fun is being made of these doomsdayers and probally rightly so.  But the real issue is serious.

Do you believe that the rapture will happen someday?

  • ID With

It was dark and she had to be quiet.  The trap door had been closed for some time and there were voices that she could hear.  She would have to wait until the voices became silent to see him again.  She relived this scene over and over again.  Who was her husband?
The voice behind, "Give me liberty or give me death."
That's right, Patrick Henry had a wife that had gone insane.  They lived at a time when the insane were put in insane insilums and Patrick did not want to have his wife committed.  So he hid her in the basement.

Now you know, "The rest of the story".  It sure does give more meaning to the famous quote.

What historical figure do you most identify with? Why?

Word of the Day - Feckless
Now that school is out for the summer, hopefully the teens are not feckless in their activities.

    Family Feud Question:
How many inches do you allow your grass to grow before you mow it?

  • Obama and Israel

When Obama gave his speech today he clearly came down on the side of Palestine or the Arabs.  Israel has flatly rejected Obama's demand.   It would be equivalent to Russia's President telling the US to give Texas to the Mexicans because that was the way it was in the US history.

What do you think about Obama's demand that Israel give up land to the Arabs?

Word of the Day - foofaraw
I didn't need all the foofaraw the other night on the bus.

  • Simple Things

Years ago I allowed myself to hate life and I allowed stress to control me.  I was overworked and and the position I had was very difficult.  I vowed never to allow myself to get like that again.  I haven't.  I had to take on a new frame of mind.  Besides the Bible other ways I take on a new frame of mind is looking at the simple things.  This morning I just watched a Turtle Dove in a nest with her little birdies.

What do you do to eliminate stress?

    Psalms 21:2-6

Word of the Day - autodidact
In some ways I am an autodidiact, specifically in the area of writing.

Family Feud Question:   What state is the best place to vacation?

  • Likeability

I'm reading this book called Relational Intellegence.  Actually it's a book in our book club.  The chapter I'm reading right now is called "likeability".  I'm having some difficulty with it.  It's encouraging everyone to be likeable.  The suggestions the author makes are so not my personallity.  It almost seems like a popularity contest.  The things that are important to me are not important enough to the author to put in his list.  Being on time, not self seeking, not self advertising, humble, and using good grammer are a few things that I feel make people likeable.

What do you find "likeable" in other people?

    Psalms 21:1

Word of the Day - Prolific
At the end of this day I hope I can say I was a prolific worker.

Family Feud Question:  How many books does an average person read in one month?

  • lost

I had the perfect picture.  The sky was a colorful swirl of red and blue.  A turtle dove, sitting in her nest was stirring.  The scene was right outside the bathroom window.  I waited too long to take the picture.  Maybe some other time.

    Word of the Day: Feckless
Hopefully the teens aren't feckless at this time of the year. It could be deadly.

  • Last Day

I've been helping in Kindergarten every Monday over this past school year.  It's my last day today and I'm feeling a little down about it.  I've played games, helped with projects, cut out lots of letters and just generally helped the teacher.

Where have you volunteered at and what did you do?

    Word of the Day -Sanguine
    I don't have a sanguine attitude today.
