  • Ominous

I went down to the river today and it's running faster than normal but it's in the banks.  As I went there I drove past a major effort of sandbagging, just a block from our house.  I have watched several dump trucks loaded with dirt go down the road and back again empty.  Sections of Yankton have been evacuated.  The Lawyer that helped us with all our adoptions evacuated his house.  There is an ominous cloud over Yankton.  The Corp doesn't know exactly what the Missiouri River is going to do.  We now sit and wait for this tremendous amount of water from Montana.

Have you experienced the feeling of ominous?

If you were an action what would you be _____________. Why?

What is the most important thing to you right now?

  • Pretending

I read on (SentimentalDoll) site: "I hate pretending I'm okay when it's so obvious I'm not."

I personally try to be positive and so I find myself pretending I'm okay.

Do you pretend to be okay when you're not?
Is is OK to pretend to be okay?

Word of the Day - ruminate
I can't help but ruminate about the Missouri River, in that it's about to flood Yankton and down stream cities and towns.

  • Welfare

Here in South Dakota we have TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)  In order to get TANF a person has to put in hours at a non-profit organization.  I usually have TANF workers, working for me.  I think it's a great program. It means no free money for the TANF workers.  In Florida the state is making welfare recipients take drug tests in order to receive benefits.

Does your state have a "work" for benefits program?
Would you support a measure that made all welfare recipients take drug tests and be drug free?

  • Politics

I was talking to this guy this morning.  He told me that he hated all the bad stuff said about President Obama.  I agreed with him and said it wasn't a good thing, after all he is our President.  I was curious as to how he felt about the republicans that get mud thrown at them.  He was all for that because they deserved it.  It was very obvious that democrats could do no wrong and republicans could do no right.  It caused me to wonder if that's the way a lot of people think.

    So here's my question:
Do you side on issues or do you side on the party you support?

    Word of the Day: Guile
I don't see myself as guile, but I do know people that are very skillful in this area.
