  • Pushy People

It doesn’t matter what I’m doing I seem to always run across at least one pushy person.  Even in my dream last night there was a pushy person -lol.  Most of the time I deal ok with people like that, but when I’m tired or down I don’t do so good.

How do you deal with pushy people?

    Psalms 28:9

  • Dream

I had a dream last night.  Powerful clouds rushed to the horizon.  When the clouds hit the ground a large explosion happened.  I’ve had a lot happen within the past few weeks. Starting with the adoption process of the boys.

But I didn’t see what happened yesterday coming.  Out of the blue my 17 year old adopted daughter told me that she knew how to contact her biological mother.  I got the number from her and contacted Jackie.  I’m taking both Austin and Alisha to meet their bio mother on Friday.  I don’t know how that will be.  So I think that is the reason I had that turbulent dream.

    Do you dream?

  • Question

Who said: If we allow blacks in the military it would disrupt the country?
President Abe Lincoln said this, but not in the applied way.  He wanted the war over as fast as possible and needed to keep the democrats satisfied, who was against abolishing slavery.  After Lincoln assessed the situation he found that allowing the blacks in the military would advance the North’s position and he allowed them in the military.

    Psalms: 28:6-8
    Word of the Day: remonstrate
I’m not a person the remostrates very often, but when I do it, I do it with all my heart.

Family Feud Question:  A state with great beaches.

  • Horneros

Daniel Carajal decided to photograph these birds building their nest.  The birds worked 8 to 10 hours a day for over a month. The interesting thing about these birds is that they did not work on Sundays.

Do you rest one day a week?

  • Hurricane

Prayers go out to those in the path of Irene.  I’ve been through one hurricane and that was enough for me. Helena hit Gulfport, MS with a lot of power.  We had just moved from one part of the town to another.  The trailer we previously lived in was totally destroyed. In fact the entire trailer court was gone.  The trailer we lived in at the time didn’t have too much damage.  What I was impressed with was the eye of the hurricane.  I went out into the middle of it and it was so beautiful.  The hurricane trapped many colorful carribean birds.

Have you been in a hurricane? Experiences? Are you in Irene’s path?

  • What a Day!

What a day!  Yesterday was one of those days I was glad to see end.  It started with us frantically looking for our 1 year old.  Apparently he decided to follow one of the kids out the door when he went to school.  We live on a busy road.  A lady stopped in the middle of the street in order to deliver Aaron back to us.  The day ended with us sitting in the jail waiting room for nearly two hours.  We had to endure the fowl language of those visiting inmates.  We needed to get our finger prints for a background check in order to adopt the boys.

What happened on one of your worst days?

    Psalms 28:3-5

  • Extremes

It’s been a great week and I’m ready for a day off.  We’ve been working on getting the adoption done. Today we’ll see the lawyer.  Hopefully we can get our finger prints at the police station for the back ground check.  We went at the scheduled time and they were too busy arresting people to get to us.
I’ve seen many new children in our programs.  That is great.
It’s been a week of extremes.  I’ve felt the best and I’ve felt the worse.

    Do you have extremes?

    Psalms 28:2

  • Time

Time is speeding by so fast.  I try to slow it down but can’t.  It seems like it’s picked up speed, as I try to do more with less time.
I vounteer at school this morning: I’m reading to 1st graders.  I love being in the school.  I was there on Monday in the Kindergarten room.
Our adoption process has started.  We see the lawyer tomorrow morning.  We’re hoping by this time next month we’ll have two more Tramps.

Do you want time to slow down, speed up or be just like it is?

    Psalms 28:1
    Word of the Day: objurgation
Objurgations hurt, especially from close friends.

  • Consumers

Last night in my leadership group we discussed what to do with people that want to use up your time but won’t change.  These people are called “consumers”.  I have some consumers in my life but I keep a close boundary on them.  I don’t allow them to just call me anytime they want.  They are very needy.  I was just discussing this subject with someone I know.  He told me that he had someone in his life that uses him all the time for rides.

What would you do in this senario?
How do you respond to the “consumers” in your life?
Do you give in to consumers so you don’t feel bad?

Family: adoption – We start the process today

    Word of the Day: objurgation
    Psalms: 27:14

Then I had to rush to Sioux Falls because Nikki had twins. (Nikki was a bus kid I use to pick up many years ago.)
