Obama
The Obama administration is saying that all the unrest in the middle east is not against Americans, it's against one video.
Do you believe what Obama is declaring?
Right now there are 21 countries that are having violent uprising agaisnt America. How far and how long do you think this is going to go?

Hopefully not much further!
Was that the American flag they were all burning or was I only watching video?
@rocketopossum - Agreed
@PrisonerxOfxLove - Good point
It'll go on until we get some marines in there to kick butt or bombers dropping surprises on the "protesters."
the US has become the scapegoat for all their pent up frustrations with their own way of life. it is just a reason for a certain extreme group(s) to cause violence and whatbetter people than the US to show hate towards as we have the freedoms they dont have and they wish they had. there is no way to reason with radicals with pent up hate. if they were true believers in their own religion, they would not be doing any of this and would realize that the video was the vision of one person and not of all of the US.
If I could recommend what buddy71 said a million times I would/ We are not the caretakers of extremist views. The people that made the film are as despicable as the extremist that killed and started the violence. Starting another war or violence upon violence is never the answer. Diplomacy and tracking down the bad guys is the answer. We got Ben Laden and just recently the second in command. We will track their ugly butts to the ends of the earth but it takes time not bombs and loss of innocent lives to do it.
I think the answer is a bit more complicated: for many of those folks, they see no difference between the one video and "America" as a whole. They are conflating the two, just as many Americans conflate Muslim terrorists with "Muslims" as a whole.
@buddy71 - I think your comment "there's no way to reason with radicals" is spot on. Well said.
@whyzat - yes
@buddy71 - I think they are being true to their religion. The Koran teaches death to all infidels.
@slinky - Agreed. We didn't start this war it was started against us. This administration is being soft against a war that is being fought against America.
@Randy7777 - it also teaches love and compassion and tolerance and there are times that the prophet was treated poorly yet he did not retaliate.
@christao408 - The clear point is the terrorists waging war on America and Israel. The call to "rise up" came on 9/11. The video was used as a trigger point. I'm sure this wasn't the only video out there saying things against Islam.
@buddy71 - Well hopefully the muslem nations will shout that message of love and compassion and tolerance. I haven't heard that coming from the muslem leaders.
21 countries!! If all those countries get together, wouldn't it be another World War III
What does any of this have to do with Obama?
Obama spoke to the Egyptian President yesterday after which the Egyptian President and the Muslim Brotherhood called for an end to the protests in Egypt. today there are no protests in Egypt.
something to think about is we have freedom of speech in this country. in many other countries governments control and censor the press. in those countries people are used to videos such as the one in question to be censored by the government. when they see the U.S. government not censor such a video they presume the U.S. government supports the content of the video.
something else to consider is it is believed the demonstrations were incited by Al Qaeda cells and done so intentionally on 9/11. Al Qaeda used propaganda that the video was officially backed by the U.S. government and many swallowed the propaganda but is that so different than what we witness in the U.S. how many people in the U.S. believe people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck? how many believe the President is a Muslim and wasn't born in this country? how many believed Michelle Bachmann and others and the FOX talking heads that Obamacare was a plan to pull the plug on grandma or that democrats are socialists and communists? how many people believed Paul Ryan when he claimed President Obama promised to keep a GM plant in Ryan's district open and didn't keep his promise? plant workers who were there said Obama never made that promise. Obama said if the government helps the plant could stay open. the government didn't help and it closed while Bush was in the White House. this is how it all happens. people who don't have the time or the desire to find out the facts turn on their televisions, hear someone make a claim and assume it to be true.
Perhaps if people would take responsibility for their free speech and realize the effects of it, this wouldn't have happened! (I watched a few scenes in that movie and it was the most vile and disgusting thing I've watched.)
@Randy7777 - obviously, you don't know any Muslims
We are fighting a VIDEO ? If it's VHS, does anyone have any scissors ? I can think of a quick solution right there.
Sounds like a bully made it. Do we HAVE to watch the video ? No ? Return to sender without watching.
Both besides are being incredibly short-sided. It's exhausting just listening to these reports and the comments.
@dw817 - Good Point
@hesacontradiction - I have friends that are Muslim. My point was that I haven't heard any Muslim leaders being compassionate in this issue.
@hesacontradiction - The video has been out since June. Islam leaders called for its people to rise up on 9/11. Obama administration made the video the focus point for political reasons. It looks like a well thought out plan on the part of this administration.
