I have to comment on jury of Scott Peterson. It bothered me when they made statements about him. Yes, he’s guilty but their reaction to him was so wrong. One lady took it very personnal. She hated him and spoke out that hatred. I think of a verse in Ezekiel 9:4. It says to mark each person who groans over the sins of others. Those that were marked would be spared. When those jury members became personnal with Scott they took on his murderous spirit. I fear for their hearts. I suspect this has changed them for the worse. We must be hurt when others sin, not rejoicing in their punishment.

Hey there, I was wondering if you would answer a question for me. I have recently been visiting a church and I really enjoy it. I talked to my friend, which she is deeply involved. She is active in homegroups and I was just wondering about some things she made comments to. The first is that she said she was learning to speak in tongues. I have been blessed from God to have gotten to have this gift, but it made me a little uncomfortable about how she was saying they were “teaching” the class these things. I have gone to scripture and I remember my old pastor saying that if God blesses us, and we are faithful, and we pray to receive the speaking in tongues then God will provide. I have never heard of taking classes?!?! I was just a little worried is all and I wanted your opinion.
The other thing that I thought was really weird was when they were in their homegroups a woman had just devoted her life to Christ. She was praying that her husband would attend church and be saved. Well the leader told her to bring with her on the next homegroup a shirt of his. She did, and they all prayed over this shirt.
I was just a little skeptical about their practices. Now these are leaders in the homegroups and I am not sure if I agree with their methods. Never have I heard anything like this before. If you could just give me your advice that would be wonderful. I really do not want to attend a church that conflict with scripture. If it is in scripture if you could so kindly point me in the right directions.

I was actaully thinking some of the same thougths when lacey’s mother was giving her last words to scott. She spoke out very much in hate against him, and as much as i don’t know what its like to be in her position, the bible says even to hate is as bad as murder. And yes I have hate hateful emotions in my life, but its another to act upon emotion. I am praying for their hearts

It definately is a very sad situation that I am sure is very hard to deal with as a juror/ family member or someone who is personally involved.

Derek and I were looking at this younger picture of you and couldn’t help but to notice it. How is she doing? How are the rest of your kids doing? Please tell them all “hello” for me!

Thank you so much for your advice and I will definately let my sister know. I am no Bible scholar and wanted to have an opinion on it. I know that if it is for good reason than that is what it is. I do have concern about speaking in tongue though. I remember reading in the Bible that if someone does speak in tongue that there should be an interpreter present. I mean how else would the church and other non-believers know what is being said. I just had some concerns about that. Thanks again so much for your advice. Take care and God Bless!!!
